True, it will probably be more clear the further along I get. Sort of a week by week thing, I guess.

I'll know more about which way to go with my plans/ideas when I speak to her, but you're right, I need to be open to change/redirection.

What fun high risk is!
Not.

I can't stress enough how important and beneficial it was to us to have a doula on board, both during labor for the extra support and comfort she provided, but also because her knowledge and experience helped with some of the decision making-I could bounce ideas off of her during pregnancy, and during labor, we could rely on her feedback to make sure that we were taking the best course of care possible.

I was boarderline high blood pressure, had gestational diabetes, and anemia during my pregnancy. I have the birth story here if you want to see how things went:

Thanks. Just remember..talk to your OB and let him/her know what you want for your labor.

Good luck, and keep us posted here with any questions or issues you have during the pregnancy.

Are you with a High Risk OB? It sounds like you might be/should be with your risk for diabetes and pre-eclampsia ( ... )

Am I with a high risk OB?
Oh there's a whole story behind that.

To make it short:
I was released from my RE (3 hrs away) to my reg OB/gyn.
I'm currently under her, with visits to a cardiologist for my bp, and an endo for my thryoid/diabetes.

Not overly happy with some med decisions that have been made, but seem to be unable to find anyone who agrees with me. I have a level 2 scan on the second with the perinatologist and will discuss my future care and any changes then.

Thanks for sharing your experience with me. I guess it's a case by case thing.
