I found a very touching video and article full of anecdotes about Joe's time in Syracuse in the '60s, in light of his upcoming visit to Syracuse University this Sunday to deliver the university's commencement address. I can't recommend this enough, everyone should especially watch the video.

Honestly, at first while I was watching the video I was like "..." at the sentimental piano music and the reporter's raspy voice. Then I was like "Awww, Joeyyyyy!" and by the end I was all, "omg i want to die this is so touching T__________T"

Where are the words? I could visualize it all in my head, and hearing about those seemingly small things he and Neilia did that still resonate with people now....it's just incredible. I love the way they never forgot him, and he never forgot them. And the vid illustrates my philosophy of life anyhow-that without darkness, you never truly understand the purpose of the light.
