Unshelvedshows yet again why it is deserving of a wider readership than just librarians. The Sunday Book Club (or, in librarianspeak, booktalking) episodes should be of interest to readers everywhere, and especially SF fans since a large percentage of the books reviewed are science fiction or fantasy ( Read more... )

The thing that bugs about the fanboy's comment is that it isn't as if Pratchett invented humorous fantasy (although he does it better than anyone else I know of); Pratt and DeCamp were doing it decades ago, and Meredith's hilarious The Shaving of Shagpat was written about 150 *years* ago.

What do they teach them in those schools?
