Fantastic. I think a lot of people had an upswing in shipping Adams/Abby/Jefferson after that miniseries - I blame Stephen Dillane and Laura Linney for having excellent chemistry with each other as well as Paul Giamatti.

This is an excellent story, very lazy and sweet. I love Abigail's frustration and her flirting with Tom.

Yup, it's all totally Stephen and Laura's fault. Because I saw that prompt, and immediately thought of them walking down the tree-lined path together, and it sort of spiraled from there.

There's only two of them physically in the garden, but three in spirit. I felt almost guilty writing it, because I loved the portrayal of John and Abby's marriage, and Tom and John's friendship, so much. But this is an OT3 with three definitive sides. (Especially since, though they left it out of the miniseries, the real Abby had a thriving correspondence with Jefferson as well, after all of the Presidential stuff had died down. And she mother-henned him like whoa before that.)
