A family friend who used to encourage my writing and computer programming and chat with me about stuff and got me work experience that led to my current career and was generally an all-round charming person... then tried to murder his wife and it turned out he'd been abusing her physically and psychologically for years and years. So, um, yeah. Cognitive dissonance is weird-making.

Thanks for the 'tag'...but I have no scanner (is sad :( ) or access to one, that I know of. But thanks for the thought!

Sorry to hear about your teacher. The summer between "Brownies" and "Girl Scouts" , my Brownie leader got into a drunken argument with her (equally drunken) husband and stabbed him to death. Then we moved and I never found out what happened to the rest of the family.

...huh. :) On a related J note: This is kind of a problem when I have to write 5s at work. (Which happens quite a lot.) I can never seem to keep my attention long enough to do them well. I find myself having to erase and rethink them, so that other people can read them. (Progress!)

I've seen multiple examples of my parents' and grandparents' handwriting, and I think I got a genetic whammy of all the worst bits. The keyboard was the best thing that ever happened to me.
