Because she's phenomenally successful and popular, and people are interested in what she does?

Not this person. I'm seriously sick of her. And her books.

Who is forcing you to read her books, or to read news items about her? Can this person be stopped? We stand ready to assist you.

No one. I'm just tired of seeing her name come up again and again on my book feeds list.

ARGH. GET OUT OF MY MEDIA, JKR. SERIOUSLY, SHUT THE F**K UP.

I love how when she finished the last Potter book she was all "I'm gonna do something different now!" ...and all she's done since are a load of Potter books. Lame, JKR, lame.

Also, JKR, you're not a very nice person IRL and I'm ashamed that Britain thinks of you as a hero.

Also, take writing classes.

ok see you around sk. xxx

Aww. I love Harry Potter, mostly because I grew up with the books (yes, I am one of the crazies who cried on their 11th birthday when no owl appeared), but I see where you're coming from. I'll probably end up buying the book, but I do sort of wish she'd stop with the Harry Potter and write something else.

Actually, I wish she'd stop releasing things of very little interest and get on with a post-series encyclopedia. I neeeed to know what job Ron has, and who saved Draco's ass in the end, and what Lucius ended up doing. Fairy tales? Nu-uh.

She's just a "one note" author and I'm getting sick of that one note. I might respect her a bit more if she would write something totally unrelated to HP. A Gothic romance perhaps, IDK. Although, I do respect the fact that all proceeds from the book are to go to charity, that's cool.

I don't understand some of the fans who go UTTERLY UTTERLY CRAZY AND DEFENSIVE. I love the books. Not because they're the best books ever (they aren't), not because they're written brilliantly (they're not), not because JKR is amazing and the most talented person in the world (she isn't). I love them firstly because they're books, and secondly because I grew up with them, so they have a special place in my heart. But not to such an extent that I refuse to listen to other people's opinions of them.

On the other hand, I would totally consider defriending you because you haven't read any Terry Pratchett novels :P They really are good books. Really.

Yeah, I think sovietkiki would defriend me on those grounds as well. But I just haven't the time. Especially now!

TBH, I tried reading his first book and got bored with it very quickly. Then again, I was taking Greek at the time and probably couldn't devote 100% of my brain power to the think. I have every intention of reading them someday.
