I don't know, I can't help but think this draft is particularly weak, even at one and two. And especially for the Bulls. I mean, the unanimous one and two are Rose/Beasley (I have Rose above Beasley, in fact way beyond), can the Bulls really use either of them?

I guess Beasley's the better fit in Chicago, because, meh, I'm not sold on there being a REAL power forward out there in Chicago. Then again, I'm not sold on Beasley as power forward at the next level, either.

Then there's Rose. If there's one thing Chicago has, it's guards. Sure they had a down year, but I can't imagine that lasting too long - signing Dantoni would have helped with that, but, no - but I can't see Chicago really wanting to spring their #1 on another guard. There is the "hometown kid" plotline with Rose, though. I don't see him being the Bull brining the ball up the court every possession either.

I hope I'm wrong, though. I really can't stomach the Pistons in the East Finals every year. Boy do I hope I'm wrong.

All I can do is hope they make a good pick that helps them instead of forcing them to trade good players away...

Yeah, should they never entertain the Kobe for our whole team trade again. Kobe's good, no, he's great but he's only been relevant when he has a good team around him.

I think Bulls need to focus on the bigs, and they can't do that at number one, really, without taking Beasley OR reaching. Kevin Love, I think would be a better fit for them (yes, showing my Pac-10 bias), but he'd elevate their whole team before he would himself. I think Beasley is a Carlos Boozer type, with more power and less inclination on the team. Love won't be great either, but he will elevate the others around him when he's on the court.

Were I to run the Bulls I'd do one thing: Trade. Then you could approach the Bulls like the Celtics did last year (trading the #1 to move down - to say 10 - get a solid big w/o reaching and then pick up a talented other player on a team that wants to go younger).
