Never too late for nice wishes! Thank you! And besides, it's still my birthday in my birthplace! I take a very inclusive view -- my birthday began just after midnight in Kazan' because that's where I am now, but it won't end until the next midnight in New Jersey!

I'am Alexandra Evdokimova, Byzantine epigraphist and linguist. I heard a lot of good words about You...

Thank you, I'm happy to meet you. I've seen your posts on other friends' pages and am happy to add you as a "friend" in the interesting ЖЖ sense.

I didn't attend your course this year, but you have probably seen mee. Anyway, I'm Ira Moskaleva, the OTiPL student (3 year).
Sorry again for not posting the comment earlier.

Hi there! I was delighted to learn from cqs that you have a journal here.

As for who I really am, we met at the Ottawa FASL meeting a few years ago, where you told me that my name is what yours would have been if you had been born a boy.

Thanks and welcome! So I know your first name, then; will I be able to figure out your last name by looking at my copy of the proceedings of that FASL (my copy now being in Moscow), among authors plus everyone listed in the front matter?

Ah! I should have been more specific-my cryptic remark was, in fact, intended to tell you both my first and my last name. Since you're now on my friends list, though, you can learn all three of my names from an early post in which I whinged about someone getting them in the wrong order and inserting a superfluous hyphen.

(I apologize for all these circumspect and -locutory violations of Grice's maxims of manner; my general policy is that I don't much mind if people who read my journal can figure out who I am in real life, but I don't want everyone who knows my real name to be able to find my journal.)

Oh, Julia's friend in Philosophy who I met when she came to visit you in Amherst last fall, right?
-- I love your photos of Mt Mansfield from a year ago. My mother grew up right near there.
