I had bought a plane ticket to see my mom this weekend for her 70th birthday. I arrived as planned and went straight to the hospital where she was admitted Friday night with severe diverticular pain. I've been here since. They finally pegged the persistent fevers as broncchial pneumonia and have her on three antibiotics, oxygen, and IV fluids. Her

I hope she recovers fully and gets some enjoyment out of the visit. Do please watch your own energy and stress levels. I know you're sensible and level headed, but it's easy to over-extend one's self at times like this.
