Here's a question I've been wondering about in general, and you're a specific example, so I thought I'd ask you. :)

I notice that there are three ways people deal with posting long works:
1) post in chunks/chapters as they are written (i.e. as a WIP)
2) finish the whole thing and then post in chunks/chapters (what you're doing here)
3) finish the whole thing and post it all at once.

I find it easier to come up with reasons why I'd want to do 1) or 3) -- though both also have their drawbacks -- than 2). What's the appeal of this method for you? :)

Also, when you say it's all written, do you mean "drafted but I might still edit it as I'm going along, possibly in response to audience feedback" or "it's in the can and I'm just sticking finished chapters onto the web"?

So it sounds like what you're doing right now is really kind of an option 4: finish the whole thing, post it in chapters, but continue editing the not-yet-posted parts during the posting period. That does sound like the best of both worlds -- not having to worry about the possibility of not finishing, but getting the feeling of accomplishment of "look, I'm posting!" but at the same time being able to keep twiddling it, or at least parts of it, over time.
