Tay, though she will not admit it, is homesick.

This has probably been a bit evidenced to her family, at any rate, by the way she's called home every night for the past four days. She misses them. Not home, exactly, though she loves Boston, but her family. She's never been away from her entire family - there's always been her dad and a cousin ( Read more... )

"You look homesick," Kara says as she sits down next to Tay, tucking her legs up underneath her, under her skirt. She's doing a good job of pretending, but it's not just Kara who can tell. Just anyone who knows what to look for. Really, she's trying to be helpful.

"Thanks," Tay mutters. "Just what I needed to know."

Okay, she'll work on, y'know... not looking homesick.

Oh, and ignoring the kid next to her. Because... she really doesn't feel like being social with some dreamy-eyed pretty girl.

"I thought you might like to know," Kara says, apparently paying no mind to Tay's sullen, uncommunicative demeanour. She tends not to care about that sort of thing.

"I won't tell Romana. Don't worry." She pauses a moment, tracing her fingers over the table. Her fingers might be sketching out Gallifreyan symbols - there are too many things in her head, and most of the time she doesn't even know where they're coming from. "The Doctor used to know a Romana. She was much cleverer."

Yeah, she's bored. So she's wandering around in people's heads, just a little. And possibly baiting baby angels? It's hard to tell with her.

Tay scowls at Kara. "Yeah, right." She firmly believes that HER Romana is the most clever, brilliant, amazing person or angel in the whole world.

And she does not like being baited.

Tea isn't too sure why she's still hanging around the Conrad. It isn't her home, isn't the place that she needed to be even, but here she was, wandering around and, at the moment, enjoying the wonders of having a fully stocked kitchen at her disposal.

She's trying to valence a plate of rolled up pancakes on top of a cup of coffee when she spots Tay, looking all sulky and homesick.

Sliding in across from her, Tea smiles a little. "You," she starts, holding up one of her pancakes as she speaks. "Don't look too thrilled to be here. Been seeing a lot of that lately though, I think it's the new trend around here."

Tay blinks a little uncertainly, and raises an eyebrow at the pancakes. "Uh, check again, I'm actually pretty damn thrilled to be here. Do you always do weird things with breakfast foods in the afternoon?"

Occasionally." She takes takes a bite of her pancake and grins because in actuality, this was her favorite way tto eat them, wrapped up with syrup in the middle and a little powdered sugar on top.

"You wanna try one?"

"Uh... no thanks. I had breakfast at, y'know... breakfast time."

Honestly, Tay thinks it looks a little sickening. Too much sweet.

Yes, gasp in horror, folks - we have a 15-year-old who isn't all that fond of sweets.
