Let's Dance to Joy Division

At the top floor of the Conrad in the executive suite, a par-TAY is going on!

Well, right now, it's just JD. He's been there since last night, actually, because heck if it was reserved anyway someone should take advantage of it, roll around in the blankets, enjoy the bar, eat some of those pillow mints, and try not to think of what it would be like ( Read more... )

Penny's mostly gotten over the shellshock of what happened with Johnny a few nights ago and even if she hasn't completely recovered, she's hoping JD and the thrill of a little harmless excitement will help her. She has Juliet's Andrea Bocelli CD in her hands (Juliet, herself, was occupied and wouldn't say with what so it's just her for now) and is standing outside the suite with an amused look on her face.

She needs this distraction, she assures herself just before she knocks on the door.

JD jumps off of the couch and bounces to the door. The moon falls to the floor, forgotten for now. He's ridiculously excited.

He opens the door and nearly tackles her.

"Yay, Penny! You're here!" JD grins, pulling away almost as quick as he hugged her. "Come in! Check this place out! It's the best!"

Penny laughs when she's ninja!hugged and walks inside, giving the place an approving nod. "Ariel spared no expense for great justice, did she? This is the sort of place I could afford to stay in if I still had money."

Oddly enough? She doesn't miss it that much. Having money, that is.

"How long have you been reaping the benefits?" She says, giving him a teasing smile over her shoulder.

"Uhm. Not all that long. Really." Oh, yes, JD, because you're so very good at lying. "Well, you know, just since last night. I was making sure that it was as good as it looked."

JD takes a seat on the bed, bouncing on it. "And it is. Really comfortable. Even the carpet is comfortable not that I slept there, but..."

Nate tilts his head to one side, standing outside the door, and raises his eyebrows at the singing he can hear from inside. Seriously? Journey? Seriously?

After a moment, he knocks on the door, waits for JD to open it, and says without preamble, "Tell me you weren't just singing along to Journey?"

No, he wasn't really planning on coming and being... social or anything, but Mattie's coming, and Nate didn't mind JD, so...

JD answers the door. Ah, one of them. One of the attractive males that made his heart all fluttery and uncomfortable and gay.

At the question, he gives him a sideways look.

"I wasn't just singing along to Journey?" He's completely serious, and then he smiles. "There I told you. Doesn't mean it was true."

Nate grins, rolls his eyes a little, and steps into the room. "It's really not fair to lie to me. I can't lie back." Well, technically, he can, especially because he's got a very high tolerance for pain, but it still hurts.

"I hope we're not going to be playing Journey for the... OT3, though. That's just kind of... what's the word? Oh, yeah: lame."

"Hey."

JD points at him, almost touching Nate's chest when he does so.

"Don't you dis Journey! They're like a god to me. What have they ever done to you?" His hand falls down by his side as he grins, brightly. "But no. I don't think they quite fit the mood for what we're going for... here."

Jack arrives with the promised wine, his (perfectly repaired!) greatcoat slung over one elbow, and a bright--if somewhat coy--smile. The door is slightly ajar when he arrives, so he nudges it open with a foot and steps in to heft five-count-'em-five bottles of wine. "I come bearing gifts," he announces.

"Holy smokes, Batman! You did!" JD goes to greet him, grabbing a couple of bottles and holding them up in the light as if it... somehow helps him examine them more closely. "And they're glorious!"

He smiles, and then seems to slowly remember the last conversation he had with Jack over the journals. So he's quick to return to the kitchenette area and set those... away.

Jack... Jack's not oblivious to the fact that JD is less than perfectly comfortable, but there's no need to let JD know that. He follows, face the picture of innocence, and pulls a few sheets out of his folio. "I've got about five dozen fresh roses to be delivered up here about an hour or two before the big shebang. And I made these," he says, handing the sheets over.

They're small notes, folded so as to easily slip under a door. One is in a distressingly good forgery of the Doctor's handwriting, reading only Martha - I'm up in the Conrad, room 712; come see me as soon as you get this. It's important. - The Doctor, and the other two are in Martha's (forged) handwriting, bearing similar messages addressed to the Doctor and Des.

"Should be useful."

"Five dozen roses? Awesome. Very romantic and perfect for the decor."

The notes make him squeal, a little (too much like a girl, but the narration won't bring that up).

"These are perfect." He, grinning like an idiot, glances over at Jack. "You're kind of amazing."
