Luke's in the common room, smoking and thinking about five years that exist hundreds of years in the future. The people he met there. The people here, who he missed so much throughout those five years and how it feels like he's finally home ( Read more... )

Here Luke, have a bored Electric Elemental.

Jasper's been contemplating taking advantage of the lift being fixed, but weighing possible fun against possible gruesome danger, he decided that it just wasn't worth it.

So he's sitting upside down in a chair, watching Luke smoke with interest.

"Where are you, mate?" He finally asks, noting how distant he seems. "Because it's not here, that's for sure."

He's genuinely interested, which is new for him. Either being around people has started to make him a bit less ornery or he's bored enough to want to have a decent conversation.

Luke looks away from his cigarette and flashes Jasper a smile.

"Yeah. Sorry. Head's stuck about a hundred years or so in the future."

He tilts his head to the side looking up at the ceiling for a second before his gaze falls back to the now. "Y'know when all the shit was goin' around here? Explosions 'n such." The 'such' means torture, cause he won't say it out loud so easily. "Sort of got thrown in some sort of time vortex. Like the Rift 'cept didn't take me to another time and 'nother universe, just... the future of this one, yeah?"

Jasper tilts his head to the side which is not all that easy to do when you're sitting upside down.

"You're kiddin' me, right?" No, that's not exactly something to joke about, so he goes on with the intention of making that first question seem completely rhetorical. "Well, what's the future like? Can't get any more bleak than this one, can it?"

Oh yes, Jasper. Yes, it can, you poor, naive little boy.

"Nah, not sure that'd make much of a joke if I was." Luke smirks, placing the cigarette back in his mouth and trying to think of the best way to sum it all up.

He bites his lower lip.

"Well. I spent five years there and 'm afraid it's hard to sum up. 'specially for me not much with the... words 'n all, but well, for one thing humans were extinct. Not supernatural humans as they're called now, but the regular humans. Just supernaturals were left. Never ran into any angels or demons so not sure about them."

Lavendar has been keeping to herself for a little while, especially with all of the trauma and commotion that has been occuring. She's stayed to her room or a select few people, afraid to go back up and out of the building.

But this hasn't hindered her rather bouncy disposition. So here, Luke, have a Lavendar. She will pop up and hug him from behind, giggling all the while.

"I hear those things are bad for you." She jests, grinning widely up at him.

"Lavendar!" Luke grins and turns around in her hold to kneel on the seat, reach over, and hug her back. Tightly.

It's been five years! He's allowed to be extra cling.

He pulls away at the jest, tilting his head. "What? Oh, yeah. Well." Luke smirks and shrugs.

Lavendar doesn't mind extra tight hugs, not from friends, no! Granted, there might be a little squeak of surprise from it, but she doesn't mind at all. So long as he doesn't pull a feather from one of her wings, they should be in good shape.

"You're silly. It's good to see you again," a bright smile, "I haven't seen you in a loooong time."

Stretching out her wings (which she realizes, he might not have seen before) she sighs a little and looks up at him. "And you are okay 'n' all?"

No, he's stronger than he was, but not quite that strong that an intense hug would result in accidental feather pullage.

He laughs.

"Good to see you, too." And yes, he notices the wings for the first time. "Oi. When'd you get those?"

Cause it's of course not possible for her to have been a secret angel all along. Pfft.

It had been a while since Toast had been at the Conrad, he'd left after Brando's service and hadn't returned until after the whole mess with Calisto and the explosions.

Part of the time he'd been working, part of the time he was simply pretending he didn't exist.

When he enters the common, he's not expecting to see anyone he knows,. Really, he's not even expecting to dwell there at all but someone catches his eye,, someone who looks vaguely familiar...

"Luke?"

There's even a soft, though excited smile to accompany his words because it was Luke and really, how could he not smile at the sight of the fellow, even if there did seem to be a few...changes.

"Toasty!"

Luke bounds to his feet, throwing the cigarette in the fire without a second thought, and bounding after him, wrapping him up in a tight hug. Nope. Don't get any choice in it, sorry.

"Bloody hell, I missed you, mate."

And for once, he's not going to protest, only wrap his arms tightly around the other and give him a hug of his own.

Yes Luke, you have been terribly missed.

"Missed you too," he admits with a laugh. "It's just...Yeah, it's great to see you, it really is."

He pulls back but only just a little because really, he doens't want to let Luke go just yet.

"I I like the hair," he thinks to add after a moment. "Very nice."

Luke smirks.

"Thanks. Happened when I transformed into my second animal." He shrugs, a little, but he'll definetly not be letting go just yet, either. "How are you, though? God. You look just the same as I remember."

Of course, he does Luke. It's been like two weeks here since Brando's funeral. If that.
