There are some instances that are just about honor. That are about a few good men rallying together to do what is best for their homes and their country. A time where mercy nor weakness is shown.

A time ... for snowballs.

Shawn Spencer is currently manning a snow fort in the middle of Grant Park. It is a brash, brilliant thing, and lined with a group of neighborhood kids he assembled to band against the evil tyranny of the magical mischievous snowmen. He raises above his perch in one of the upper levels before shouting:

"NEVER SURRENDER!"

... After which he's promptly pelted by five to ten snowballs.

" ... Man down."

Sometimes these things just happen, Shawn.

Hilary fell for Shawn when she was stalking Jeremy at the Thanksgiving celebration in the Tower. There is simply SOMETHING about a man in a pilgrim costume that is so appealing! She could hardly approach him then. Oh, no, she was much, much too shy so she remained invisible and stared with starry eyes from a near distance.

She has been hiding behind a bush this whole time, watching Shawn and his fantastic skill and strength, taking over a snow fort and shouting out against surrendering.

How handsome!

But she lets out a squeak when she sees him attacked by those kids and rushes over to the snow fort.

"Oh, NO! Are you alright? Don't you worry one moment, Shabunny. We'll get them!"

She is carrying a basket. Ahem.

"ALSO, I made you brownies." She grins brightly.

... Did she just call him Shabunny?

Never mind, she has brownies. Everything is negated by brownies. He sits up almost as soon as the word is out of her mouth, and he gives her a small smile.

"Really? For me?"

No, of course not, Shabunny.

There was no calling him of any names at all! But she does have brownies. She has many brownies. Hilary nods in answer to the question. The small smile on her face widens into a grin.

"I thought they would be good fuel for all the hard work you've been doing with the snowball fighting," she says as she hands them to him. They're all in the shape of hearts.

Brownie hearts.

Brownie hearts are awesome.

Shawn takes them from her eagerly, ignoring the snowmen in favor of chowing down on brownies. Somewhere, in the back of his head, there's a warning bell going off saying that he shouldn't just be taking brownies from strangers, but Shawn usually ignores most warning bells.

They tend to go along with common sense. Who needs that?

It's okay, Shawn. Thankfully, the brownies are not spiked with anything at all so there's no worry of him being dragged back to her lair or anything like that.

Hilary simply grins and is filled with SO much happiness that he actually takes them and eats them.

"If you ever, ever, ever want any more brownies, you can have them any time. Just write to me on the journals, because I'd be happy to make them for you. I'm Hilary..." and I am the love of your life is not said.

YET.

"Shawn," he says over a mouthful of brownie. "And these are so good."

Seriously. Best brownies ever. She should cook them professionally.

Naturally, she already knows his name, but she won't comment on that. Hilary just grins wider, and she blushes when he tells her her brownies are good.

"You think so?" She says. "I could make you more whenever you wanted." SHE COULD BE IN HIS KITCHEN PERMANENTLY AND MAKE HIM ALL THE FOOD, ahem.

"You would?" Shawn can't help the wide grin that crosses his face. "That would be awesome."

... Oh, Shawn, you really don't get how a stalker works, do you?

"Of course, I would. I'd be happy to," Hilary says, grinning at him and swaying on her feet. "I'll let you know when they're done over the journals, okay?"

Oh, Shawn. It is what makes it so entertaining. "I'd make you a many a you want!"

"Awesome," Shawn says with a grin. "Hilary, I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship."

Just friendship. Only friendship. At least, that's what he's thinking.

"I think you're right, very, very beautiful," Hilary say in agreement, grinning as she stares at him.

Yes, SHE STARES. She is not thinking about only friendship at all. She's thinking of how friendship leads to more.

... Okay, now the staring is getting a little creepy. Not quite outweighing the brownies, but still creepy. He finishes off what brownies he has left, before handing the plate back to her.

"I should ... get back to my snowman problem."

Hilary nods, not noting any creepiness that he might sense from her. It totally goes over her head completely as she grins.

"Okay! Good luck," she says firmly, nudging him with her finger before she grins and skips into hiding again!

If there's going to be a battle of man against snow, then clearly the side of man needs all the help it can get. The snowmen get attacked by a barrage of snowballs from behind a tree near the fort.

Using magic may be cheating just a little, but that doesn't mean Remus is going to put his wand away any time soon. Anyway, it does help to draw one or two of the snowmen's attention in his direction instead of the fort.

Shawn does not find the use of magic cheating. The snowmen are magic. It only seems fair to use magic to fight back in return. He pushes up from his prone position just in time to see the barrage of snowballs flying the snowmen's way and thrusts his hands up into the air.

"Reinforcements! Victory will be ours!"
