Once upon a time, there was an alternate city of Chicago, the lovely people residing in it, and many Rifts placing these people into various different predicaments, spanning from the humorous to the perplexing to the utterly heartbreaking. Wondrous different people, of all shapes and sizes. So it has been, and so it will be, for years and lifetimes

She glances down, and she finds herself in a very thin, almost toga like attire, and heavy shackles around her wrists. Apparently, the Rift is placing quite a literal angle on her 'unpaid debt.'
Needless to say, Bela is not pleased.
She shakes her wrists, trying to shove them off and not freeze to death all at the same time. Someone wish her luck with that.

He doesn't feel any differently though so maybe it was just some crazy old woman without a single ability to curse anyone.
Damon steps through the park, freezing when he sees Bela and raising his eyebrows appreciatively.
"Hot outfit."
Damon, this is not the proper response.

"Actually, it's quite freezing," she comments dryly. "But thank you for noticing."

"I'd bet," he says with a smirk. "Always happy to notice these things, Bela. Do you want me to try to break them off?"
With his super strength and all... that he has. Ahem.
Though it's possible that the Rift made those shackles unbreakable.

"Please?" she sighs, holding her hands out to him. "I'm not sure what the Rift is trying to prove, but it could have at least left me my coat."

He grimaces a little, taking off his leather jacket and holding it out to her if she wants it. She would be warmer. "You should move inside."

Hopefully it wouldn't be for more than a day. Hopefully.

And there also may have been a slight blush at that compliment. Or maybe it was the cold. Who can tell?
She nods and falls in step next to him, tightening the jacket around herself as she does. Her eyes wander over the streets as they go, frowning a bit as she sees all of the odd things wandering the streets.
"What is the Rift up to now?"

They can both not admit their true feelings together. If he notices the flush of her cheeks, Damon doesn't comment on it, but the narration has a feeling he does and smiles a little.
There's a horse walking along with a knight on top.
"Fairy tales escaping the pages of their books? Great." Damon pauses. "...and now I'm starting to wonder if that old woman I ran into earlier was actually a witch." Damon grimaces at that very real possibility.

"You encountered a witch?"

And now he's starting to think she was more than an old, crazy, homeless woman.

"Made up or dead language?"
Reply
"It sounded unintelligible. With my luck, it's a language in some universe." Whose magic somehow works Here.
