Waking up, pressed to Tyler she startles herself. Nearly forgetting what had happened, that she had gotten out of there, that her father wasn't exactly Daddy anymore. Her hand wipes to her cheeks trying to rub the tearstains off of them. Shifting slowly, she moves out of the bed, leaving Tyler asleep atop the covers. Quickly, so that she wouldn't

This is not news, but it has meant she's needed time to herself, time to cool off. Living here for nearly a year has started to wear thin on her, and while she is relieved she's been able to see Jeremy again, worrying for him now on top of everything else becomes an occupation she's all but perfected.
She doesn't expect to run into anyone from back home.
Elena should know better, as it was only weeks ago Vicki fell through, but she's not expecting it. Certainly not one of her best friends. Her steps slow down until she's come to a full halt, breath catching almost viciously in her throat. "Oh my..."
Her voice trails off as she starts moving once again. The confusion on the blonde's face is all too painfully familiar, and relief and dread collide into her at once. "Caroline?"

Brushing her hair out of her eyes, she turns around, "Elena??"

"I can't believe you're here," Elena says, the dazed, disbelieving tone coloring her voice.

There was a chance that she'd gotten lost, but really nothing even felt the same. "Where's Tyler?"

It's his dog.
Gabriel is wandering through the streets of Chicago and odds are, his owner isn't far behind, but right now the dog wants to meet all the people. This later leads to Castiel meeting all the people. Clearly, Gabriel simply wants him to meet everyone in Chicago, and really. Who can argue with a face like this?
So here, Caroline. Have a puppy. He's very happy to see you, and the angel that owns him will be by a little bit later. He does have a collar, though -- he's just missing the leash.
[Set it either before or after Elena. Whatever's easier for you. =D]

Of course, she wonders who the dog belongs to. Looking up, as she crouches down, she tries to pet the dog and find the dogs owner.
"Well, you aren't mangy at all."

"Gabriel."
See what he means?
Castiel is standing a few feet away on the sidewalk, where he probably wasn't two minutes ago. Gabriel looks up from Caroline, giving her hand one last look before jogging back to his owner and winding around his legs.
"I am sorry if he was bothering you," Castiel begins. "He tends to ... run off."
Mostly that's because Castiel lets him, but details.

Caroline frowns, exhaling a bit as she shakes her head, "Not that he was bothering me. Sorry, it's been a weird day."
She stands up, offering her hand to shake, "I'm Caroline." God, she really hopes he's not some serial killer using a cute puppy to lure people in.

Vicki likes to wander, and from her knowledge she can only do this at night. Caroline just happens to stick out to her, a familiar face, but not one she was really fond of. Not one she hated either, though. So she lets her brows furrow, stuffing her hands in the pockets of her sweater and approaching her.
"Talking to yourself isn't going to do you any good." This is said in a flat, apathetic voice. She wants to be amused, but Caroline isn't Elena so her confusion just....leaves her there to watch. Is that really as pathetic as it sounds?
"Welcome to Chicago."

"Vicki?" Caroline glances across the way, confused a bit, but mostly just trying to sort out why everyone's here.

"Elena's here. She'll take you to the tower."

"I know, I mean, she already took me there. I just... I needed some air."
