Chicago is sunny and warm on the first day of school for Looney High. Thankfully, two teenagers are able to take advantage of the sunshine, not being enrolled in school.
Tay, the older of the two, is sitting on the roof of the Kashtta, enjoying the sunshine as she goes over her new Torchwood-provided arsenal. A shotgun (though she misses her old

Unfortunately for Castiel, he can never not sneak up on someone. It's just how he rolls. So this is Castiel, appearing on the roof of the Kashtta, somewhere in the vicinity of where Tay has set up shop. He looks down at the person there for a moment before speaking.
"Hello, Tay."

"Fucking hell, man!" she says when she recognizes him, putting the gun back down. "Way to sneak up on me."

Even if there was ammunition, it wouldn't have done Castiel much damage. But it is comforting that he wasn't going to have to heal the hole in his vessel. He also is really sorry about scaring her. Most of the humans he knows are used to him randomly appearing out of nowhere. He takes it for granted sometimes.

"So, what's up? Haven't seen you around much."

She happens to be walking past the playground when she spots a lone teenager sitting on the jungle gym. It's a bit odd, considering that school started that day, but what really catches her attention are the brightly colored wings. She hasn't met a local Rift angel or demon, at least not that she's aware of, and -- she's momentarily entranced. That's enough to get her moving closer.
"They're beautiful."

She fluffs them up a bit and stretches them a little. "Your hair's really pretty! It's a real nice color."

He means to just sort of eat the sandwich he slapped together this morning and do his precalculus homework, but then he sees the girl on the top of the jungle gym doing an art project. This scene has been played out before, albeit not in front of him. Leon checks his journal just to make sure, because he's a big dork, but then decides to approach. He can see her, after all, so maybe that helps. Or something ( ... )

"You must be Leon!" she says, and waves energetically before unpinning her current bracelet from her pants and tucking it into her bag. The doodled-on messenger bag gets un-looped from the jungle gym and slung across her chest, and she clambers down, trotting over to Leon and giving him a (probably very unexpected) hug. "It's so nice to meet you! Y'know, in personish and everything! Wait, shouldn't you be in school right now?"

Herself included; after her first monster incident, she's decided on safe before sorry. The khaki jacket she's wearing is a bit warm for the weather, but it makes decent cover for the slightly stolen police-issue Glock tucked at the small of her back. She doesn't anticipate having to draw it in the building, but one never knows, and she was planning on a coffee run after she got some air.
She takes care to make a fair amount of noise coming up behind the girl; if there's one thing that's more or less universally a bad idea, it's sneaking up on someone who looks comfortable holding a shotgun.
"You know your way around those, don't you?" she says, neutrally but with an audible level of approval in her voice.
Smile, Tay. You've just been given a fairly high Ros compliment.

She looks up at Ros and flashes a quick smile before going back to her cleaning. "Yeah, been working with them since I was about 7. My granddad taught me." And her dad, and her cousins and aunts and uncles, but her granddad was the one who first taught her how to hold a gun, to appreciate the dangers of a gun, to clean a gun. It almost makes her miss him. Stupid family.
