True to what he'd written in his journal only twenty minutes, ago, JD is in the cafeteria, eating macaroni and cheese with amazing hair (which won't last if he can't find a way to recreate his hair gel here). He's flipping through, said journal, with the box of crayons (the big pack, 64 colors) that appeared together next to his nightstand.
He's

So yes, she decided she would have to venture out to the cafeteria and meet the 'stud with the perfect hair' and possibly thank him for making her day quite a bit better.
So here JD, have a Penny who is now standing behind you with a cup of tea in her hand, tilting her head to the side as if she's seriously considering his hair.
"Well, I was a little skeptical when you mentioned it, but I guess it is perfect," she notes casually. Never mind the fact that people find it unsettling when you sneak up behind them and start talking.

He had been in the middle of someone's entry, about ready to yell out loud at it as if it were a television episode or a movie of some kind. It's difficult enough restraining himself in movie theaters, so in an empty cafeteria where he is really into what it's reading. There would have definetly been yelling if Penny hadn't scared the heck out of him.
JD turns to look back at her and smiles when he realizes what she's talking about.
"Of course it is! I make my own gel! Course, I'm all out here. Gotta look into getting ingredients for it."

She takes a sip of her tea before he starts to talk, so when he actually speaks, she winds up choking on it. "I suppose store brand hair gel is absolutely out of the question then?"
Oh yes. She's going to have a conversation about hair product. It's not the strangest conversation she's ever had, unfortunately.

It's what happens when one spends most of their time in their own little world.
"Not out of the question. Just expensive! And not nearly as effective. I mean I did the store bought thing for the last couple years of college, but it sucked my bank account dry so then I did a little experimenting, and... wa la!" JD gestures at his hair with a proud smile. "Perfect hair!"

She's come into the cafeteria in hopes of finding chocolate milk (because it's the best thing in the world, you know), but is distracted by the man with all of those crayons.
She just watches him at first, but it isn't long before she approaches slowly and looks at whatever he might've colored.
"You should get a coloring book. Those are more fun to color in than the journals." A sweet smile.

And then he grins at her, waving.
"Hi, I'm JD!"

Waving up at him, too, she grins widely. "JD? That's a funny name." another giggle, "I'm Lavendar. 'N' I'll get you a color book!"
And with that? Well, she's gone running out to her room, only to return with a coloring book for JD.
A Power Rangers one, no less! One of her children gave it to her.

There is actual cheering, of course, and fist pumping into the air as he takes hold of the coloring book.
"Power Rangers? Rock on!" JD grins at her. "Thank you. I am forever in your debt."
