Meant to tag into this a while back...oops. trappedbyhate January 27 2011, 18:25:42 UTC
Sometime around lunchtime, Mio goes off to find Cassie to give her her birthday gift. Cassie's journal entry last night had seemed a bit melancholy, and Mio had just happened to have something on hand that she thought Cassie would like.

"Hello, Cassie," Mio greets her as she makes her way into the Kashtta's kitchen. "What are you baking?"

I was just writing a reply to Mio's journal post she left! starryeyed_cass January 27 2011, 18:33:38 UTC
[OOC: I was on slowatus and wasn't going to start tags when I posted Cassie's birthday journal post. Sorry I haven't gotten back to Mio's post sooner!!]

Cassie's trying very, very hard not to taste-test the cake mixture. She's been mixing the cake mix, ready to place it into little cases. And it's mocking her with it's raw cakey-mix goodness. Mocking. Her. She's staring at it with a pouty frown when Mio appears into the kitchen.

She looks up and smiles, "Hiya, Mio!" she replies with a nod of her head.

At her question, she laughs, "I'm baking cakes," she tells her. "I plan on giving them out to other residents. You're more than welcome to one once they're done,"

[Is cool! I figured that it'd be better if we did the thread in the comm when I saw Cassie's post go up.]

"That's very sweet of you," Mio says. "I might take you up on that offer after I've had something to eat for lunch. I don't think there's any way I can justify cake as a meal by itself." She smiles. Mio does love her baked goods, but she does always try to make sure she's keeping to a fairly balanced diet overall. "What kind of cakes will they be?"

She laughs brightly, "Of course cake is a suitable lunch!" she tells her, "Cake is for any time of the day, even for meals," She's got a bit of a sweet-tooth on her, so yes, she's going to say that.

Cassie wipes her hands on her apron, peering at her cake mix for a moment, "I think just plain sponge buns," she says with a nod, "I would make chocolate, but then - not everyone likes chocolate sponge,"

She glances at her food colouring and cake decorations, "If you like, I'll make the icing on top a certain colour for you," she says with a cheery grin. She'll even put Mio's name on it too!
