I know it might be wrong but I'm in love with Riley's mom

While there are usually a lot of archangels hanging around the Conrad, it's less common for them to be half-naked. The bleeding part is not nearly as uncommon. She's already screwed up Martha's stitches. Sunshine has no idea where she is. The last thing she remembers is some pool shark getting pissed that she was pool hustling him and so she ( Read more... )

Wesley's been hanging around near the medical ward, hoping he'd get some sort of update on the archangel he'd met at the bar.

She'd been beat up pretty bad, and he can't get over the sight her jaw made right before she passed out.

He stiffens when she starts to yell. "Uh." Wes lifts the sword in question. "Right here. I was just keepin' it till you were up and about..." his voice trails off when he sees the state she's in. "Shouldn't you still be in bed?"

"Yeah, prolly," Sunshine says, taking her sword from him quickly and staring at it closely, as if she's making sure it's okay. (Her sword is obviously much more important than her health, apparently.) "But hell if I'm gonna stay in there with those things creeping up on me. They touch the walls and get stuck and I can feel them."

She shivers, making a disgusted face. "Gross."

She blinks, tilting her head at him. He looks familiar, but she can't rightly remember where she met him. "Why did you have my sword?"

Don't mind Sunshine, Wes. She's just pointing her sword at you because she thinks you stole it. She doesn't really want to hurt you. She just had a bit too much to drink. Someone can fill in the holes and everything'll be fine.

He doesn't try holding on to the sword, lets go of it pretty quickly once she starts pulling. "Then why aren't ya?" he asks in confusion. "What things?"

Clearly he has no idea she believes spirits are haunting the place.

At her question, he stares at her in disbelief, until he reminds himself it's entirely possibly she just forgot half the evening.

Wes lefts his hands, eyes remaining on that pointy sword aimed his way. "Maybe because you passed out on my bike after you got nearly killed in a bar brawl."

Sunshine rolls her eyes. If Wes can't feel those things in there, well, there's no use trying to explain it to him. Stupid skeptics.

However, his explanation of why he had her sword seems valid enough. She nods a few times (which is fucking painful) and lowers her sword, smiling.

"Oh, that makes sense," she says sweetly, and as if this has happened before.

There is a Time Lord staring at the Time Lardy who is pushing the TARDIS around on a dolly.

There are a number of things about this scene which are highly inexplicable to the Vesmier's mind.

After a moment, when neither one of them has noticed him - to the best of his observation - he approaches, folding his hands in his sleeves. As politely as possible, and in Gallifreyan, he remarks «You have no idea how much I hope you wouldn't happen to be the Doctor.»

Around the Doctor, it's something of a valid concern.

The Rani wasn't paying much attention to her surroundings beyond the usual; she's more angry at her TARDIS than anything else (this isn't funny), and that takes up most of her attention. So she's pretty shocked when she hears someone talk in Gallifreyan because quite possibly that's the last thing she expected to hear.

So she turns to look at the Vesmier, blinking slowly.

«How many Time Lords are on this planet?» she asks.

To her, that's something of a valid concern.

The Vesmier can't blame her. Of course, he knows this place relatively well, and is coming to an understanding of what sorts of shenanigans to expect from it.

«Quite a number,» he says. «Including, that I'm aware of, at least three iterations of the Doctor, a man styling himself the Master, and a high-ranking Ranifer.»

He's not going to give out descriptions and locations, but protocol dictates that he should at least warn her of some of the... problems she might face.

«And myself. The Vesmier; Senatorial adjunct. My apologies for the unorthodox attire.» He gives a slight bow. «Local factions exhibit rather pronounced and violent xenophobic tendencies from time to time; it behooves one to blend in.»

Which apparently doesn't mean they can't speak in Gallifreyan in broad daylight. Apparently.

Okay. Of all of the things that she was expecting him to say, that wasn't it. Of course the Master's here, as well. She should have known. When doesn't the Master seem to show up when she's doing anything, anywhere? But three Doctors? That's not even fair. Well, it'll mean she'll just have to work harder. That's not an alien concept, unlike this body.

«No need to apologize,» the Rani says, giving him a slightly odd look. «I can't honestly say I'm on the best terms with home right now anyway.»

They had no business dragging an exile into their stupid little war. Thinking about that, though, is bringing on the pain. She lets the dolly down for the moment, pressing her hands against her head and taking a long breath in.

John isn't used to not being used to things.

The sentence might sound like it's repeating itself, but it's a very specific irritation plaguing him at the moment, beyond just the newness of the situation and his lack of real information.

He knows that downstairs is the kitchen and downstairs from that is funeral home. He knows where all the spices are, what his mother gets from the grocery store, what he can make on Friday nights when everyone's hungry and no one feels like ordering even though they really needed to do some shopping.

So when someone starts shouting, it's an effort not to grit his teeth and stab them with the knife in his pocket over and over until they stop moving and give him the peace he wants.

And it's because of that thought that he looks up from the book he'd found somewhere and smiles.

"No, but I could help you look for it."

Penance.

There is a person. Sunshine blinks, staring at the person for a moment and then drops her hands to her side frustrated. The little brat doesn't look like the type that would have stolen her sword anyway. Wanderers. Wanderers are weird.

But he's willing to help her look for her sword, so he's cool for now.

"That would make you wicked awesome," Sunshine says with a toothy grin. Finding her sword is way more important right now than her pants.
