epic post of epic-ness [and open like burning]

6am: Dani Reese is running. More accurately, Dani Reese is running in the park. It's about the hour of sunrise now, but she's been jogging around long before the light actually started filtering through the trees, casting everything in a sort of misting glow. It's getting colder, and she watches her breath seep out in front of her like fog as ( Read more... )

Dean shows up at the diner a little after Sam, just in time to see him start eating voraciously, like he hasn't eaten in weeks - or like he's Dean.

He takes the seat across from Sam, snags a sip from Sam's milkshake, and then teases, "Don't forget to breathe."

Sam grins sheepishly, but that's not enough to stop him from eating.

"Sorry," he mutters, licking some salt off his fingers. "Just woke up hungry today."

Dean shrugs, snatching up a couple of Sam's fries and drenching them in ketchup before popping them in his mouth.

"That's 'cause you eat all that rabbit food all the time. Grease is good for you, Sammy."

Just because he's hungry doesn't mean he's averse to sharing.

"As long as we both know this isn't going to be a daily thing."

Elle's been keeping scarce since the plagues happened, but she's out now, walking through the park late at night. Her hand is cupped in front of her as she uses the blue electricity for light.

She blinks a little as she notices Gabriel in the distance and hesitates for a moment. She hasn't seen him or Sylar since the day Sylar kissed her, but she's trying to push that out of her mind. Most likely, Gabriel doesn't know about it anyways.

"Gabriel," She calls out to grab his attention, grinning a little.

"Elle," he murmurs, snapping his pocketwatch shut and slipping into an aptly named pocket of his trousers.

He'd seen her face long before, illuminated by the blue light her electricity gives off.

"It's good to see you."

"It's good to see you too," She lets the electricity die off now, her hand dropping to her side.

"It's been a while."

"Uh, yes," he says, nodding quickly, almost a little awkwardly.

Quite frankly, he doesn't want to think about what Sylar's been up to while he's been laying dormant, but he imagines it's nothing good.

"You've been alright, I hope? Staying safe?"

Jamie's out of painting supplies again - lately it's the only thing that gets him out and about. Not that life isn't enjoyable - he's been given time to paint, just paint, to his little heart's content. After the Plagues scare some time ago, he'd been more and more aware that his powers have changed in some subtle way - but he can't give up painting; after all, it's his whole life.

As he heads out in search of an art supply store, he passes Salina, smiling politely at her. He's gotten used to the stares from having a bat perched in his fluffy red hair; by now, he hardly notices the double-takes.
