They agreed to meet at the Luna bar.No time to waste, Adrian had written. Wes can appreciate that sentiment, at least. He's not one for pleasantries. Never has been, never will be. There's no need for them to dance around any subject, especially if it involves Rachel and her well-being ( Read more... )

And so he does. He stops a moment when he sees Wes, checks like he's almost decided this was a stupid idea.

Well. He did decide this was probably a stupid idea. But he needs to do it anyway.

He makes his way to the back and sits down, flashing the bartender a smile. "Tequila," he says. "Lots of tequila."

The man raises an eyebrow and looks back toward the door, as though he's expecting a third party. Adrian chuckles.

"Not tonight, no. Make it a Sunrise."

With a shrug and nod, the man wanders off. Adrian shifts just a bit, so he can get a proper look at Wes. "So."

So. So, now what? "What do you want to know about me?"

Wes looks up the moment Adrian speaks, though he'd known long before that Adrian had arrived.

"You tell me, mamacito." Wes shrugs as if they're talking about the weather. He can already tell it is much more grave than he realizes.

"We're here tonight per your suggestion. Now aren't I accommodating?"

He is also a bastard.

But this is not news and Adrian gives back as good as he gets.

...Tequila is definitely needed tonight. Lots and lots of tequila.

He shrugs. The answer is, Wes probably wants to know a lot less than Adrian is going to tell him. Adrian probably wants to say about as much as Wes really wants to know, but that's circular thinking and...

There is staring. A lot of staring. And epic linefacing. The grip on his glass tightens just so, his jaw clenches visibly, and every muscle in him goes taut.

Rachel had told him about two demons. She'd never specified what kind of demon Adrian was.

He's having a drink with a Charun.

Why, oh, why?

"Aw, shit." Wes pinches the bridge of his nose before covering his whole face with a calloused hand. "Fuck me sideways."

Pardon his French, Adrian.
