But My Heart, It Don't Beat, It Don't Beat The Way It Used To

Elle makes her way toward Gabriel/Sylar’s room, wondering which one will be in today. After all, she had promised Gabriel that if he didn’t come visit her, she would come bug him. Now seems like just of a good enough time as any other. It probably helps that she’s a little bored at the moment. Of course, there’s always the chance that Sylar’s in ( Read more... )

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately, depending on who's looking at the situation), he is Sylar today. And he's not expecting any visitors, since Gabriel doesn't exactly make him privy to certain kinds of information. They each have their secrets, and besides, it'd take all the element of surprise out of things.

He's - well, doing whatever he tends to do when people leave him alone. He's thinking. And that, for Sylar, can be a very dangerous thing.

He can sense her right before she's at the partially open door.

"It's open."

Sadly, from the voice alone, she can't tell which one it is. Otherwise she might have turned and decided not to come in. Or she might have decided to come in anyways. She does like to live on the dangerous side sometimes.

She opens the door, making her way inside of the bedroom. The lack of glasses and difference in dress and manner give away that it's Sylar right away. She can't help but feel a little disappointed. But either way, at least she won't be bored anymore this way. That's something to be happy about.

Sort of.

He doesn't turn around right away, leaving it open to the place where he can see her out of the corner of his eye.

He chuckles quietly, shaking his head, and then finally turns to look in her direction.

"I wonder," he murmurs, "what our Gabriel has been up to lately."

She tries to keep clam, ignoring that little twist in her stomach she feels whenever she's around Sylar. She refuses to let it show that she's afraid of him.

"I told him I might stop by to visit him the last time I saw him, that's all," she replies with a small shrug of her shoulders. "Clearly, he's not home right now."

That someone is, apparently, Dean. The bar hasn't been too busy, so he sees Elliot immediately.

"Hey there," he says, stepping over to stand in front of her. "What can I get you?"

Elliot looks up at him, smiling a little over eagerly. She tends to do that when she's nervous. And she tends to be nervous alot of the time.

"I'll have a glass of whatever light beer you have on tap."

"Sure."

Dean smiles lightly back, then grabs a mug from the shelf behind him and starts pouring the beer.

"Haven't seen you here before," he says. Not that Dean has the best memory, even when it comes to pretty girls. Or is that especially when it comes to pretty girls?

"That's because it's my first time." She pauses for a moment before frowning at her own word phrasing. "I mean my first time here at this bar, not at a bar at all. I mean, I've been to plenty of bars before." Her eyes widen. "Not that I'm an alcoholic or anything like that, I mean, I suppose it kind of runs in the family, but still, I'm not, I swear."

Word vomit Elliot has not missed you.
