His father's looks and his mother's eyes ... Er. Wrong orphan

If it came down to it, many words could be used to describe Theodore Remus Lupin. The two most popular answers would be clutzy and awkward, two traits he's heard he inherited from his parents. It's something Teddy really doesn't mind; in fact, he claims it's endearing and that's that. And he's always especially awkward after spending time with ( Read more... )

"Bullocks?" There's an amused voice from a tree nearby. This tree contains one James Potter, who hops out of it and shakes some leaves out of his hair.

"What's happening, then?" he says cheerfully, heading over to Teddy. That look of confusion can only mean one thing. "Ah, right. I'm guessing you're a new one?"

"You prat, what do you mean-" And Teddy pauses, blinking a little. "Oh ... Oh, wow. Sorry about that. I thought you were someone else." He shifts his weight a little and looks around, taking in his surroundings as he attempts to make some sort of sense out of it. "I guess I am new."

"Let me guess. You thought I was Harry?" No, he hasn't read the books. He's just heard some about them from Bernard, you see, and considered reading them. He probably won't, though. Just because it would be a bit odd to read about one's own future, he feels, especially because he happens to be dead.

"Well, I'm not." He offers a hand and grins. "I'm James. Who're you?"

"Uh ... Yeah, actually." Teddy shakes James' hand, but he can't help but pause a bit when he hears the name. "... James? Are you ..." It sounds like a ridiculous notion, knowing that Harry has no known family, but if the answer is yes ... Well, maybe Teddy can tell Harry that he has a living relative after all these years. "Are you, by any chance, related to the Potters?"

Francis stares at Teddy for a few moments.

"Do you make a habit of talking to yourself?" he asks finally. "People might think you're crazy, you know."

He pauses, looking up at the sky.

"That, and that you think you're in London. Considering."

Teddy stares right back at Francis.

"I'm completely out of the loop right now, aren't I?" Still, he follows Francis' gaze to the sky and frowns a little. "I am."

"You're loopy, at least," Francis retorts.

He could, of course, explain to the kid that he's now in Chicago and that he fell through a rift. He could explain to him the choices in front of him. He could do lots of things that are useful.

But instead, he's just going to remark on how the kid is nuts.

At least Teddy doesn't believe him.

"I think you're being a right wanker, is what I think." There's really no nice way to get around it. If the man is choosing to be a prat, then Teddy will simply point out that he's being a prat.

Hello, Teddy, have another displaced Londoner in the form of Alex Drake, who's been out shopping for gloves (don't ask). "Hardly London, trust me," she offers, and from her accent, it's easy to tell that she knows what she's talking about.

Though why she's in a bloody great park is anybody's guess, but it probably has to do with taking some sort of shortcut (a very Alex-y shortcut) back to the Kashtta.

"I'm Alex," she offers. "Alex Drake."
