The sunrise is the same [Open!]

She got up extra early that morning... not really knowing why. Sitting up from her bed, the former Lieutenant found that she had woken up early enough to see the sun rise from her window. It was beautiful... no matter what universe you found yourself in. A run sounded good, she decided, washing her face and brushing her teeth, pulling her hair up ( Read more... )

Elliot is on her way to work as well when she stops into the coffee shop. It's just not morning until she's got a cup of coffee inside of her. She doesn't know a single doctor who doesn't operate that way, or at least, all the ones at Sacred Heart seemed to. She doesn't really know any other doctors here, besides J.D. and he doesn't count, because she knew him before hand.

She makes her way to the counter, standing at the front of the line as she tries to figure out what she wants, rambling on and on as she mulls over the different options, telling the poor worker more than they ever wanted to know. Finally, she settles on a drink and orders it, along with a bagel and cream cheese.

Uhura stood aside as she waited for her order, glancing over at the doctor who had fumbled over ordering a coffee and a bagel. She couldnt help but smile a little as she waited, hearing the barista make the shots of espresso to put into her coffee.

"A morning person?" Uhura made conversation, laughing softly in her voice.

"Not really, I mean, if I had my way, I'd definitely sleep in," she clarified, and then continued. "But I'm a doctor so that's not really an option, you know? Especially since I'm still a resident, so they tend to give us all the shifts nobody else wants like the early ones. Still, those are better than the late at night ones. The hospital I worked at back at home became a kind of scary place during late night shifts."

Uhura engaged Elliot in conversation, it's getting her to stop talking that might prove to be a problem.

The newly employed veterinarian aide looked at Elliot, readjusting her pony tail as she responded. This doctor certainly had a lot to say... she almost seemed jittery, and she hadnt even had her coffee yet. "Mm, well, at least you'll be ready for anything... scary things and all. Isn't that what being a doctor is all about?" Soon her coffee was ready, and she stepped down the line to pick it up as she waited now for her scone. Giving the blonde a smile, she nodded. "Uhura." She introduced herself.

Jacob is at the counter as well looking at the danishes and scones. He glances sideways and thinks Hello-o-o, pretty lady.

"So which of these would you recommend?"

He is never against or afraid of talking to new people, especially beautiful women.

Uhura's eyes scanned the selection once before she tuned into the unexpected question from a stranger. She looked over, grinning slightly. "Funny, that was just what I was going to ask the barista." She shook her head at herself before looking back at the counter. "...I admit I'm eying the blueberry scone." It was the last one, and the rest she would assume were cranberry.

"The blueberry looks good," Jacob concedes with a slight frown as if this decision is too difficult to settle with. "But I'm really liking the looks of that danish over there, and then take a look at that banana nut muffin. Damn."

He taps the counter.

"I could be here all day deciding."

As he suggested, Uhura glanced at the danish and the muffin, slighly amused by his enthusiasm, though she refused to show it. With her experience with men... it never was just over what breakfast pastry to eat.

"Why not get both?" Uhura arched an eyebrow slightly, side glancing to the stranger.
