It's going to follow. There's no doubt in her mind that it can. It's--
This isn't the Nevernever. Even if it didn't look like the inside of a warehouse, it doesn't feel like the Nevernever. Her ears are ringing with the strain of overuse, oversharpness. She stares at the Prophet. The wheelchair. Stephen.
It takes about three seconds from when she hits the ground for her to be on her feet again, weapon between herself and the strangers, one eye on the rift. Fidelacchius glows in her hands. "What the fuck is going on?"

This individual stops in front of the Rift. He stares at it. He considers touching it. He stops short of doing just that and frowns.
"This some kind of joke?" He calls out to no one in particular. And no one in particular answers.
Strange glowy portal things on the Saratoga, could very easily be something highly dangerous, and should probably be reported, but what does one pathologically curious InVitro by the name of Cooper Hawkes wanna do with it?
He wants to touch it. Which is what he is totally doing now, unless someone comes along to stop him, and... Even then, he's probably still going to do it.

She turns a corner in the corridor; the first thing she notices is something strange and glowing where there should be nothing but empty hallway. The next thing she notices is-
"Hawkes! What the hell are you doing?"

He points at the... Portal... Thing. "What d'you think this is? It just appeared outta nowhere." He totally wasn't going to poke it or anything. Really, Shane. He tries circling it, but there's no real difference in the back than there is in the front, so he goes back to staring at it.
"You think it's some kind of Chig weapon?"

Because yeah, Hawkes, she knows exactly what you're thinking. She knows you. Still, she's looking at the glowing portal thing more than Hawkes himself - whatever it is, it probably means no good, but there's something weirdly fascinating about it.
