Martha Jones is better. At least, she's not 'out of commisson' anymore or so she's insisting, because the Doctor isn't back yet and someone's got to go out and find him.

Her hand's against the wall as she heads for the elevator.

She does feel better (as well as she can, considering). Now it's just the throbbing headache, and the wobbliness, and ( Read more... )

That whole "out of commision" thing? Didn't sit well with Des, especially after the whole mess with the explosion. After a day, he's been desperate to make sure she's okay, that everything's fine and he's turned the entire basement upside down looking for her.

He's surprised (but relieved) to find her in the lobby and swears profusely, running to her.

"Martha, please tell me you weren't... Are you okay?"

And the worry's back. With a vengeance.

Martha blinks at the voice, bringing her out of the daze of metal very good, air very bad, and pulls her head away from the doors (slowly, thank God, she manages to remember not to move quickly in this state).

Luckily, she's not processing faces as slowly as she's processing words right now. She's incredibly relieved to see Des, even if this is a rather awkward... position for someone to find her in, pressed against the elevator doors like this. Still. It's a relief to see him.

"Yes, sorry, I'm..." Word. Word. What is it? "I'm okay."

Not the word she meant, but it has the same meaning so it will do.

"No, you're not," Des says like that's fact and he'll give her hell if she tries to debate it. (Not that he actually could give her hell, but he'd try his hardest.)

He takes a step closer to the elevator, giving her a very curious look- curious about a lot of things, not the least of which is why she's pressed against the elevator. "Did I miss something? I mean... I hear from Johnny's journal that you're out of commission. I thought it was stress from the whole goddamned Rift room exploding, but... Is it something else?"

Yes, he's being very nosey and he doesn't much care. His Martha's-in-trouble senses are going haywire and he won't stop until she's better or he at least finds out the cause of whatever's wrong with her.

"I was out of commission, but I'm better. I can walk now." Martha turns around so that the back of her head can press against cool metal and she can look at him. Apparently, she thinks if she can look at him it will be easier to convince him that she's okay.

If there's the sound of the elevator coming, she will be sure to remember to move out of its way before the doors slide open and she goes stumbling back into some poor, unfortunate... elevator user?

"Johnny has a brain... tumor." The word takes a moment to come up with. It's almost in the dark... in her head. "A fairly advanced, deadly one, but he didn't know." She bites her lower lip and looks away. "I didn't know, until I grabbed his hand."

There had been silence and then excrutiating pain that brought her to her knees. Healing from a tumor is apparently not very easy, but she's convinced that her healing powers are doing it, because yesterday she couldn't stand and now she's walking.
