Elliot, to say the least, is freaking out just a little bit. The last thing she remembers, she had been exiting Sacred Heart, done with her shift of the day. She had been still in shock of the day’s events. Dr. Cox had defended her of all people. And punched Dr. Kelso in the process

Ruvin was hiding in the rift room. Retrospectively not the best idea, if one doesn't want unexpected interruptions, but she'd borrowed an iPod from one of the angels and was listening to Las Vegas crooners when Elliot stumbled through the rift, eyes closed.

When she opens her eyes, Ruvin isn't entirely sure that there's anyone there, after all. She pulls one of the buds out of her ear and squints at the spot where she thought she saw someone standing. "H...Hello?"

"Hi, hi, someone is here? Oh thank god, I thought I was going crazy. Of course, if I am going crazy, well, then I suppose you could not really be here. For all I know you're some sort of figmant of my imagination or something and I really have lost it. I mean, it's bad enough that my body seems to be I don't even know, dissapearing or something. It's really strange."

As she rambles on her speech becomes more erratic and harder to understand. Not to mention higher pitched.

"Please--are you--it's okay, just... Calm down?" Ruvin fumbles to her feet and walks slowly over to Elliot, one hand out in front of her so she knows when she reaches the woman. "Here. Just take my hand, all right? We'll sit, and I can try to explain what's going on."

"I'm trying, I really am, but it's just....I just..." She rambles on before grabbing the other girl's hand, clutching it harder than she probably needs to. "So...what...exactly is going on here?"

Mike's wandering the basement again. He's found that he's actually incredibly restless here in Chicago. He can't go out drinking all the time, so he's here to explore the basement. Wouldn't it just be his luck to wander back into the room where he too came through and find a person.

"Um, can I help you?" Not that he's a professional in this kind of thing. But.

"I don't know," She sobs a little in confusion. "I just...I was leaving the hospital and suddenly I was here, and now my body is disappearing and I just have no idea what's going on or what's happening to me. Am I going crazy?"

Mike blinks. Well fuck. He never knew the Rift could take effect so soon. He holds out his hands to calm her down.

"It's okay," he says. "You're not going to believe me when I tell you these things, but trust me, okay? You're not crazy. I promise you're not crazy. I sure thought I was when I came through. You just came thought that thing." He points behind her. "Don't touch it! Okay? Just... it's a rift that goes through time and space. It's taken you from where ever you came from to here--Chicago." He knows how crazy this sounds. He does. "Do you want to sit down?"

"Sitting might be a good idea," she mumurs softly, trying her best to calm herself down. Freaking out like this, how will it help anything. "...This is just Chicago?" She suddenly asks, blinking in confusion.
