Sam is currently sitting behind the bar at Luna. Surprisingly, there really aren't that many people trickling in on this kind of a holiday, especially one that tends to lend itself to outdoor activities. Which explains why he's taking in a beer on the job. Avery doesn't exactly have an issue with it, to be honest, and he's not going to complain

There's only so much boredom Dean can take, though, so around the time the fireworks start up he heads over to the Luna, where he finds Sam behind the counter of course.
"Should just close early, man," he comments. "All the drunk people are already out on the streets with sparklers."

Though if there's one thing he might get a kick out of, it's watching people that are almost too drunk to tell which end is up lighting things that have the potential to catch everything on fire.
Either way, it looks like it's going to be a quiet Fourth of July, and he nods to Dean, picking up his own beer.
"You want one before I shut down?"

For as reckless as Dean is, he's pretty glad he hasn't had to deal with many rowdy customers since working here. Demons - the old kind, anyway - are one thing, but people are messy.
He eyes Sam's beer, and gives a small shrug. "Drinkin' on the job, Sammy," he makes a teasingly disapproving noise. "What am I gonna do with you?" But he nods, and says, "Sure, why not?"

"It's just the one," he protests, but there's nothing else that he adds as he reaches underneath the bar and into the fridge for another cold one, twisting the top off with one hand as he slides it over to Dean.
"Besides, a holiday like this sort of lends itself to way too much alcohol," Sam points out, grinning crookedly. He's not sure getting drunk sounds too appealing right now, but watching Dean fall on his ass might just be the highlight of the night.

Moving behind the bar, she takes notice of Sam and offers a small smile at him as she puts her bag away. "Hey."

"Hey," he answers, managing a smile of his own. "Doesn't look like it'll be too busy tonight."

"I'm Claire, by the way." She looks over at him, still offering a small smile. "I don't think I've ever actually introduced myself."

When that happens, he's planning on being as far away from this place as possible. Drunk people plus flammable fireworks doesn't seem like a good combination.
"I'm Sam. And my brother - you've probably seen him around, at least - that's Dean."

As she makes her way down the hall she pauses in front of Sylar's room. She's still a little apprehensive about living in the same building as him. But until she has any money (she really should look for some sort of job) she's stuck here for the time being.

The spring itself seems to be the problem, and he leans in to get a closer look at it when a movement by the slightly open doorway catches his eye. He glances up, tentatively, calling out in the direction of the shadow.
"H-hello? Is anyone there?"
Reply
"Just me." She pauses for a moment. "Elle." Just in case he doesn't recognize her voice somehow.

"I... wasn't aware you lived here."

She wanders the hall, looking for her room, notes the first slightly open doorway and pushes it open, making a tiny meep sound when she realizes that this is so not her room.
"Sorry! Sorry!" She says, a little bit overly apologetic. "I got turned around and I usually keep my door open a bit too, even when I'm not in it, and..." She rubs her head. The only problem with straining the limits of her empath abilities is they give her such a migraine. At least she's gotten used to the common emotional wavelengths in the Gauche, but his are different, which suggests new.

"Oh, no, it's fine," he insists, laughing nervously. "I'm sure I would've done the same thing were our roles reversed."

"That's good anyway. I'm Piper, by the way. I haven't seen you around before."
