Round here, we always stand up straight; round here, something radiates... [Francis]

It's been a while since Grace has met someone so reluctant to come to the Conrad, but if said someone was insane enough to get into a fight with Vincent... well, she can't exactly blame them for not much wanting to show their face there. But whatever this guy's done... he's an angel, and he's hurt. It can't hurt to patch him up a little ( Read more... )

Francis was taking a nap when she knocked on the door, but time-tested reflexes bring him completely awake. His hand is swollen at this point, and he hasn't been doing the best job taking care of it. He hasn't changed the bandages once, and the blood has completely soaked through them. The staff hasn't asked any questions about the white stains on the sheets, and he's not too worried if they jump to conclusions.

Standing up, he lets the adrenaline run through his system. It was the doctor Tay had found. He wasn't being attacked. He took in a deep breath. "One second," he managed, rooting around for some pants. His suite wasn't exactly clean, but it wasn't messy either. Just a little cluttered. His pants have black blood stains on them, but he's not really bothered by that. At least he's covered.

He walks over to the door, opening it. "Sorry about the mess," he says, moving to the side to let her in.

She steps inside, glancing briefly around and then focusing her attention on the man in front of her. He's taller than her - well, most people are, and he's an archangel, so it's some distance she has to look up to meet his eyes.

"It's fine," she says simply, and glances down to his hand with a little frown. "What... happened? I mean, besides the obvious... I assume you were in a fight with a demon?" That's... almost always what it is with archangels.

She slides the backpack off her shoulder and drops it on a clear space on a table. Disinfectant. He's definitely going to need disinfectant, clean bandages... Maybe stitches if he's still bleeding. This would be so much easier in her medical room.

"Let's just say my hand hit a wall," Francis says offhandedly. He's not about to admit to some guardian that he got beat up in a fight with a Wanderer and he didn't even land a single punch. That would just be too mortifying. And his hand hitting a wall is close enough to the truth. It just happened to be an invisible wall purposefully put there in order to block all of his hits.

He unwraps the bandages, hissing slightly as the dried blood comes off with them. He's still bleeding, and the hand itself looks a little mangled. He'd probably broken a couple of bones and fractured a few more.

He's not really worried about his ankle right now. It's still a little sore and swollen, but he can walk, so it's not a big deal. It's the hand that really needs medical attention. No reason to point out another weakness, even if she's an angel.

Grace arches an eyebrow at him, but if that's all he's going to tell her, she's not going to probe further. She has enough to worry about when it's her ward doing dumb things. If she started worrying about random archangels on top of that, she'd probably give herself an ulcer.

As she turns her attention to his hand, she grimaces a little. It's far from the worst she's seen, but that doesn't make it pleasant. The first thing she does is reach into the front pocket of the bag and produce a small pill bottle. "You're not allergic to Vicodin, are you?" she asks as she pops the top off it and holds it out to him. If she's going to deal with that hand, she's going to make sure he's in a little less pain first.
