(ooc: This... totally happened last night.)The great thing about being one of Vince's kids right now, by training or by proxy, is that you can take advantage of a few special perks. Like free valet parking at the Conrad. Of course, the valets don't usually park cars that look like they might have been on fire not that long ago, but the car that ( Read more... )

"I'm just concerned it's going to explode again with us inside," Buffy says as she steps out of the car - rather quickly, at that, because she really doesn't trust the thing. Doesn't trust the thing to the point where she's looking at it like it might bite her. ...Buffy's not really a car person. "Because, you know, I'm good with crisises. ...Crises. But exploding car is something I'd like to avoid, because I've never done that before and it doesn't sound fun."

"It's not!" Tay protests, scowling at Buffy a little as they head inside. "I keep telling you, the only reason it exploded was because the fucking Afreet got too nervous being around me or something. So not my car's fault." She heads over to the door with the key-card lock and the "Private" sign, that leads to the elevator. "Anyway, isn't an exploding car just another one of those 'crisises' you're so good with?"

Okay, NOW she's just poking fun.

"Oh, shut up," she mutters, following a half-step behind Tay. "I just got out of the car ride from hell, and did you ever think that if someone can light your car on fire, you shouldn't be terrifying around them?" Because that's really something Tay can turn on and off. Well, Buffy can, so it's a reasonable assumption! Sort of.... no. "And no, exploding cars are not. The whole sacred Slayer destiny includes vampires, demons, Hellmouthy creatures of all kinds, and possibly Rift monsters by extension. Exploding cars? Not so much."

"You big baby," Tay comments with a roll of her eyes, and swipes the card, opening the door. "Come on."

She doesn't really pay much attention to the other two angels waiting for the elevator. A small African-American girl and a ridiculously tall boy with floppy hair - she's sure she's seen both of them before, but she's not exactly on a first name basis with every angel she's ever met. Anyway, she's on a mission today.

"You think he's found anything?" she asks Buffy.
