Here I start to define it

Zelgadis is sprawled out on a couch in the common room, staring at the ceiling and looking rather pensive. Scratch that. Conflicted would be a better word. There's a deep frown on his face and his eyes are narrowed at nothing in particular ( Read more... )

[OOC: Ideally, I would have tagged you before you signed off, but, well, Sark took over my head. Stupid boy.]

In a world of sounding boards, Lina Inverse is not the best one, but she is a friend and seeing Zel looking more morose than usual makes her curious enough to wander over to him.

"You know if you think too hard, your brain will explode," she says casually, shoving his legs over a bit (it's harder that it looks) so she can sit down on the couch too. Clearly, Lina has no concept of space and merely does what she likes, but he knows that well enough.

"At least that's what I told Gourry once. I think he really took it to heart."

And there's a wry little smile attached to that that says, 'See, I made a joke. You're supposed to laugh' even if she knows better than to expect Zel to laugh at her stupid jokes.

Zel rolls his eyes at Lina. "Right. Well unfortunately I do need to think about something, so if my brain explodes, well, then that's what happens."

"And you could ask before moving my legs so you can sit."

"Just figured I'd warn you," she responds dryly.

And now she's rolling her eyes, "Okay. Zel, do you mind if I move your legs so I can sit down?"

There's a mildly condescending tone to her voice, especially given the fact that she's already sitting and has no intentions of moving.

Zel gives her an exasperated sigh. "I meant you should do so in the future."
