So when a knock happens, xe...well, xe jumps, but then xe closes the computer and, tucking it under xes arm, runs one hand through xes hair (it's the closest xe's going to come to combing it, seeing as mostly xes approach to hair consists of 'forget it's there') and goes to open the door.
"Hey," xe says, and then xes eyes fall on the sweater. Xe kind of makes a snrk noise in the back of xes throat, though xes expression stays on Goodnatured Teasing. "Christmas spirit, I see."

Xe moves out of the apartment, then, locking xes door behind xem, then turns back to Ray. "Lead on, sir!"
Though about halfway down the hall the bravado leaves xem a little. "Um, am I going to be expected to do Fancy Religious Rituals or anything at the church?" Xe was raised atheist, and would probably be pretty stoutly atheist if xe weren't. Comes with having a scientific brain, or something.

And so our heroes geeks sally forth to pick up Penny and Billy.
"Huh? What?" Fancy religious rituals? There's a lot of standing up and sitting down and responsive reading in a PCA, but other than that... "Nah, we're not going to a service, just dinner. The worst you'll have to put up with is a long-winded prayer before we eat." The theology may be hardcore, but the ritual is comparatively tame.
