I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark, living in a powderkeg and giving off sparks.

In a Main Gauche sunroom, Andrew Wells is sitting upside down in a chair with his camera, rewatching old footage and snickering to himself. One of these days he's going to find some way to invest in a laptop and some video editing software and actually get this documentary off the ground ( Read more... )

Robin Rice has been desperate to find ways to keep himself occupied since returning to the hotel. There are far too many memories here. Most of them, surprisingly, good, but the people they are attached to are all gone (except Grace). Good or bad. Every memory hurts. So he's put it upon himself to go through all of Romana's things, sort them, make sure they get to their proper places or are destroyed if they would in any way make Romana seem even less favorable in people's eyes at this point.

He steps into the conference room without looking up so it's not until he's several paces inside that he realizes he's not alone. Robin glances at Mitsuki, and then at the table.

"I was- Just going to take care of these," Robin looks back up at her face, almost daring her to tell him, 'no' though why he thinks she would isn't exactly clear.

He's still emotional and having difficulty interacting with much of anyone.

Mitsuki's wings mantle, a little bit nervously, because she knows of Robin even if she's never met him before. He was to Romana what she was to Vincent, after all. Assistants have to stick together.

"Oh, you can... Get to that then. I haven't touched anything. I thought someone might be coming back for them, actually." She brushes a bit of her hair out of her face and sighs. "Is it just me or is it too quiet?"

Even with the Wanderers trickling back, she got used to the sounds of archangels in the halls. Now the ones who are left are quiet and solemn and some of them have even left for other places. It's all wrong somehow.

Robin nods. He's not sure who else would have come for these, most everyone of Romana's personal team is dead, in a coma, or gone. And he's not sure what he'll do with all of this paperwork once he's gone through it. At least, it's something to do.

He leans over the table, leafing through the papers there. He only looks up at her, again, when she asks the question.

"Not just you. It's like a bloody funeral down here." Robin winces at his own choice of words and sighs at himself, standing up straight, again. "How's Vincent?"

Robin never liked him, mostly, because anyone else working closely with Romana, he had to compete with. Still. He does care... for her sake and every angel who thinks of Vincent as he thinks thought of Romana, even if he could never exactly express that. Plus, he always did his best work when Vincent was around, as if what the two of them did for Romana could be compared.

Mitsuki doesn't flinch at the choice of words. Her sense of humor is morbid at best, but she doesn't smile either, merely stares at the wall until he mentions Vincent and she faces him again. "Stable, but that's the best news they can give me. Either he'll wake up or he won't." And Vince is an angel. He could stay in that coma for a thousand bloody years and wake up a First, but by that time, she'll have probably gone mad.

She starts to ask him how he's holding up, but that's not the best of questions to ask, nor is asking if he's keeping busy, so she settles for a noncomittal, "There's been discussion of peace talks." Nothing concrete. Not yet. "Official peace talks, anyway."

Because that's clearly easier to discuss that Romana and Vincent.

Ariel has managed to get time from the hotel. She had meant to visit earlier, but with the craziness of the past few weeks, it seemed more appropriate to take care of matters at the hotel. More than that, she had only just met Vincent, which wouldn't stop her from visiting, but she felt those who had known him longer deserved that initial time by his bedside ( ... )

There's a withdrawn teenage girl wandering aimlessly through the halls of the Gauche today. She's been thinking about going to visit Vincent, but she's not sure she can take it today. He just lays there, Vincent's body, but... not Vincent.

She gets a few steps into the sunroom before she realises there are people there, and she stops awkwardly, just... standing there. She's really not sure if she can deal with people right now. Plus, she's not sure Piper or Andrew want her around. They might want to be alone.

Piper is generally amicable to anything, but she's distracted by her book at the moment and doesn't even feel the emotions- she's gotten good at blocking out what she doesn't want to feel.

Andrew on the other hand, just happens to look up from his camera and give Tay and an awkward upside down wave, just barely managing to keep his legs from unhooking from around the chair. "Hey, Tay! You know there's some really great footage of you fighting monsters with Buffy on here. I wonder if there's anyone here who has video editing equipment. We could do a whole fight montage with music and everything."

Yeah, Andrew is often special when it comes to greetings and actually noticing when people aren't at their best.

"Yeah, sounds cool," Tay says quietly, smiling a tiny bit. It doesn't seem even half-real.

She's still considering running for the hills. If he doesn't talk any more.

Piper finally starts paying attention and she frowns a little. "Tay, you want to join us? I mean, it's fine if you don't or if you have somewhere else to be, but we're not doing anything really important, and, hey, if you wanted to go get ice cream or something, I'm sure there's... Food... Somewhere, and you wouldn't have to leave the Gauche, and... and..."

Andrew looks up from his camera and cuts her off with a, "Breathe, Piper, breathe!"

Piper flushes scarlet and goes back to her book. Andrew can handle it. He knows Tay better. And handle it, Andrew intends to do as he rights himself and peers at Tay from over the back of his chair, camera abandoned. "So...Do you want to do something?"

Elashte has, finally, FOUND Ashley. After 350 years of having to get by without psychic abilities, one would think that one would have developed a skillset for the performance of tasks without them. Especially as one's room is not an uncommon place to find a person. Possibly Elashte took the long way around to shake off Malek.

He stops in the doorway, giving a polite knock to the frame.

Ashley looks up from trying to figure out exactly what he's reading and where it might have come from, and nearly jumps to his feet when he notices Elashte- it's a kneejerk reflex. He did it with Luther too, and he didn't even like Luther.

"Hello, sir, I was just..." He looks down at the papers, decides there is no way to actually describe what the hell he was doing, and then looks back up. "Did you, ah, need me for something?"

Elashte nods, with hardly a glance at the papers.

"It's important that I meet with the Torchwood leadership and ...ah, a Mitsuki Takahashi, from the Conrad. The leader of the remaining archangels. However, as it is now," with a concussion and a few other things to worry about, "I don't have the time to organize it. If you could...?"

Ashley nods and takes this down in a private journal entry to himself. "Right. I suppose I should contact Ms. Takahashi via the journals as soon as possible, get this wagon on the trail and all that. Do you have a specific location in mind or should I take this up with her?" He quirks a brow at Elashte, his penchil poised just above the page.
