In the center of the Main Gauche's garden, there's a fountain. Standing on the edge of that fountain (because he's a tiny bastard, and he needs the height advantage so he can be found) is one Jeremy Taylor, guns and knives strapped to every portion of him in reach, and a sniper rifle in his hands ( Read more... )

Missy's here with literal bells on (her collar today actually has a little tinkling bell) and... Not much else. She's actually just wearing a little faux-kimono (of the sort that are only kimono in that they vaguely look like them) for the benefit of an easy transformation when it comes to that, but she'd rather be human for the actual briefing. She'd have weapons on her, but she doesn't expect they'll do much good. Once she gets transformed, there won't be any going back.

She's also resisting the urge to make Napolean jokes here. She's a good soldier and will not disrespect her 'commanding officer' even if she is a snarky little bitch sometimes. Even when she was back in the militia, she held some iota of tact in the face of serious combat.

Logan is positively gleeful. She's got a couple guns on her - just pistols, but she'll grab something more appropriate from her room when she heads up to the roof - and she's already gone around the complex quickly, dropped off a few... well... explosives in various locations, and she is looking forward to this. Chicago and coffee shops are nice and all, but Logan's happiest when there's fire and bloodshed on a larger scale.

She bounces up behind Missy and slides her arms around her, resting her chin on Missy's shoulder. "Hey, babe. Love the bell."

"When I say I come with bells on, I mean it literally," Missy grins sweetly in that way that suggests that she could use those same teeth to tear your throat out. Not that she actually used the phrase 'with bells on' at any point, but, well, it was a implied cliche.

"Looks like it's going to be a real party." She takes one of Logan's hands and squeezes it tightly- not reassuring, because like they need that right now- they're fucking awesome- just an expression of excitement and a little bloodlust.

Logan squeezes back, and grins. She can't quite match a behemoth for teeth-baring grins, but she hangs out with them enough, it's close. "Told you Chicago was the way to go for vacation." Only in special demon land is "war with archangels including the First among Firsts" a vacation in any sense of the word.

She kisses Missy's cheek and then disentangles herself from the other demon, eying Jeremy thoughtfully. "He's kind of tiny, isn't he?" She's one to talk.

Noah does not do well with groups. He does even less well with orders- he just doesn't roll that way, even when he has a job. He works solo, and that is it.

Today, though? Today is the exception. He has a gun. He's not really big on guns, but figured he might need it, just in case. And in his hand is a knife. He's rolling it between his finger, caressing the hilt with his thumb.

There will be blood today, and Noah Smith intends to enjoy it.

"And you must be Noah." Jeremy smiles at him. "Good to have you here. Think you can get that entrance over there, and not disembowel the guy you'll be working with?"

The question's largely a formality... People will work with the program, or they'll probably die. Hell, they'll probably die anyway, but if they don't work with him, Jer's got no qualms about shooting them down himself.

He's practical like that.

"Aaaaand it looks like the last of our troops are here." He grins. " Speech time."

Harry hasn't been in mortal peril for a good while now, and there's something reassuring about the sense of impending doom. His pistol and blasting rod are in his duster pockets, and with his staff already glowing in anticipation, he joins the assembling group. He doesn't know most of them, but that's fine with him. Definitely not necessary, so long as they can handle the danger. And since most of them are probably demons, well, he's not worried at all. Okay, maybe a smidgen. But not for them.

"At a guess," Jeremy says, taking in the glowing staff, "you'd be Harry." He grins, all teeth and pre-battle adrenaline. "Question for you. They'll be coming in the southwest, right over there," he indicates the entrance to the grounds. "Think if I stick you in the north, you'll be far enough back to knock 'em down before they can reach you?"

Harry eyes the entrance. "Oh yeah. Not a problem." He's just now realizing, of course, that the White Council isn't here to see if he breaks the Laws of Magic. Sure, the idea of killing people with magic is not something he's ever been too thrilled about, but sometimes it is fucking necessary and this is very extremely probably going to be one of those times.

Black magic, my ass. This is defense. And a good blah blah blah.

"Might want to keep the rest of our guys clear," he warns Jeremy. "Some of my arsenal's got a... big splashback." He is pointedly not thinking about the time he turned Bianca's place into a gigantic smoking crater.

Jeremy just smiles at the warning. "Exactly what I was hoping to hear. If we're lucky and really fucking good, between you and us snipers, nothing that walks into the center of this place will be making it past us."

He watches as the last few people file in, and Eric makes his appearance. "Oh, look. Time to be motivating." He gives Harry one last grin and clears his throat, ready to start the speech.
