You can't save me from madness

The situation at the Main Gauche is pretty interesting just now. Elashte is out of commission, Romana's army is on the way to (presumably) kill them all, and the whole defense is being run, in differing ways, by a 200-year-old Rakshasa and a 16-year-old Guardian Angel.

Tay is extremely stressed. Which is why, once Jeremy went off to deal with ( Read more... )

Buffy spins around mid-kick, manages not to stumble, and pushes her hair from her face - it's pulled back, for the most part, but somehow whenever she's training, some of it always manages to get out. And oh, that look on Tay's face is not good news.

"What's up?" she asks, already moving toward the door. "Besides 'bad news', because that's obvious."

"We've got an army of archangels heading towards us with, I'm assuming, the intention of killing every last person in the complex," Tay says shortly. "Also, El's down for that count - someone attacked him just before one of Jack's kids came over with the news about the angels."

She doesn't sound upset, but god, is she.

Buffy stares at Tay for a moment, and then swears. Her mother would have grounded her for a month for using that word. "How long do we have?" Buffy's used to getting some warning about these things. There's usually a prophecy or someone who has the good grace to tell her in advance they're going to kill her, destroy the world, et cetera. What happened to big bads with some standards?

"Don't know," Tay says, sighing, and rubs the back of her neck. "Jeremy's getting together whoever can and will fight, and everyone else is hopefully getting evacuated into the tunnels. I made sure to have him spread word for Roland to go down and make sure everyone gets out okay."

She hesitates a bit. "Anyway, I'm... gonna go wait out front. For them to come. I've got to... I don't know. I know people in both groups, and for once, I actually don't want anyone dying. I have to try to change their minds."

Something which has her very fucking nervous, obviously, because she's not exactly a talker. She takes orders. She takes orders from Romana, or she did, once, and now she's got to try to talk them down from a war that she would've been chomping at the bit to be part of, a few months ago.
