Gwen is in the lobby, at the reception desk with her laptop and her journal in front of her and a rather large mug of coffee by her elbow. It makes it easy for people to find her, and if anything happens to explode, she's in a nice, central location where she can get to it easily. The fact that this has become a primary concern in her life, even more so than when she was with Torchwood in Cardiff...

She looks up from the journal as Maya steps through the door, and smiles. "Maya. You said yes to Sam, then?" Gwen wonders, for a moment, if she should warn Maya, but... how do you warn people about Torchwood anyway? Anyway, she's sure whatever she could say, Maya already knows.

Maya smiles, hefting her knapsack. A familiar face - always a good sign.

"Didn't take much convincing," she admits. "There hasn't been much need for an Orientation Officer at the Hotel since the mass exodus, and this seemed like a better career choice than sitting on my arse all day."

She glances around the lobby. It's just as vast and empty as it was when she visited for dinner.

"You - we seem to have a lot of space."

"More than we know what to do with." Gwen glances around the huge, empty lobby and shakes her head a little. "Jack doesn't do things halfway." He just occasionally lands them in the middle of inexplicable creepiness and leaves them to fend for themselves. But she'll forgive him for that.

"He doesn't seem to," Maya agrees. "One day, I'll have to actually meet him. Say hello. I get the feeling that won't happen anytime soon."

She walks across to the desk, glancing down one of the hallways. At least there are no ghosts, right at this moment.

"...I'm afraid I'm not sure what I'm to be doing here," she says. "Sam wasn't terribly explicit."
