If anyone's paying attention to the news or happens to be within a block of the infamous, constantly exploding coffee shop.
There's a story developing.
The grand finale of the week from hell.
"Hello, Channel 5 here with a breaking news story just in. The Coffee Shop on [insert street names here] is apparently being held up by a small group with guns. Yes. There are hostages inside. No words as to what the three perpetrators inside want, but the police are hesitant to storm the coffee shop, more so than they normally would be. They are perhaps hoping to stave off any further addition to this week's death toll.
The street and its surrounding blocks has been evacuated and blocked off against all traffic by police since approximately 5:30pm, earlier this evening. Citizens are cautioned to avoid the area altogether.
It is a very dangerous situation and Channel 5 will continue to give you live coverage of the hostage situation as it develops. For now, perhaps, it's best to remain indoors. With the windows shut. No matter where you might be in the city tonight.
For the news that keeps you informed, keep your television sets turned to channel 5 news. I'm Rick Bailey. Stay classy, Chicago."
