It may or may not alarm him that a girl he's never seen before sits down across the table from him and stares intently at him, like she's studying the inside of his head.
Kara sometimes doesn't see the need for introductions. It has something to do with how she always knows more about a person than they'd care to give away, whether or not they like it.
Aiden doesn't notice Kara staring at him first, but then he glances up from his sketch pad and sees her there. He stares back at her over the rims of his glaces for a few moments.
Then his face breaks into a grin, and he says, "Having a staring contest, are we? Or is there something else I can do for you?"
"They like magic. It's not the same here - nothing's the same here - but it's close enough. Magic, and the rift, and the blood of angels and demons..."
Kara bites her lip, and looks at Aiden with an expression rather resembling a puppy hoping he won't be mad she just chewed up his shoes.
Interested, Aiden leans forward slightly. "What does that mean? Who likes magic?" He tries to speak gently, thinking that this girls' mind might be very fragile... judging by the way she's talking.
