When orchestrating assassination attempts, it's usually better for them to be in public places. However, if things go wrong, public places are a fairly sizeable hazard, because once the first shot is fired, everyone's in a panic and no one is going to care if things get crazier. There's also the fact that generally the people doing the ( Read more... )

"Right," Martha says back and lets out the breath she'd been holding as she glances out the window at Sark standing on the street. The sight gives her a renewed sense of dread. This would all be so much easier if it was only her life at stake. "Wait. For one simple word, it feel so... weighted ( ... )

Shepard arrives at the location toting her pistol and wearing her newly upgraded armour-upgraded, in fact, with the heat-sensing technology Malek procured for her. It's times like these Shepard's very glad she ran into Sully all of those months ago, or she'd've had to come with something much more bulky and conspicuous. She's wearing her civvies over her armour. No point in freaking out any civilians that might be nearby. Loose black slacks, muted red button-down shirt. Pistol's holstered at her hip, concealed, for the moment.

She spots Sark and heads over to him, scowling deeply. No, she doesn't trust him one bit. Not at all. But she did keep her word. She's alone, and she only has the pistol, out of her four guns. Her trump card is the infrared sensor integrated into her armour, which means she can "see" Sark even when he's invisible.

"This had better be worth it," she growls to him as she approaches. "I had plans, you know."

Making her new base operational, for instance. But she leaves that part out.

"It had nothing to do with 'kicking puppies'," Shepard responds bitingly. "I happen to like dogs." And she does, really. She also has little patience for sarcasm today.

"Them and a lot more where that came from," she responds. "If you're looking to take control from me then you can fuck off right now. I don't care if you were Calisto's favourite. They'll only listen to me and I'm not about to let that change."
