JD is packing. Really. Not that he has a lot to pack. Just some clothes, most of which are strewn haphazardly around the dresser, because he only has a small backpack to pack it all into. His journal and the huge pack of crayons that came with it are fit snug at the bottom of it all ( Read more... )

Lavendar has heard about many people leaving, and when she passes JD's room, she peeks in. Seeing the clothes every where and just how he looks, she has a good feeling as to what's going on.

"You're leaving too, aren't you?" It's not a bad sound to her voice, just a little surprised, if anything.

She's keeping a small smile on her face, though, because even though she's sad, she doesn't want to make other people sad, either.

JD turns at the sounds of the door opening. Actually, he kind of jumps. He's more tense than he's possibly ever been so he's about as calm as an unpotty trained labradoodle (as Dr. Cox would say) right now.

"Yeah, I- Uhm, yeah. It's not really safe here, anymore for... me."

He frowns at her and waves her into his room so he doesn't just have to peek in, anymore.

"Sorry. I don't want to. I really don't want to go, but I'm kind of not a big fan of being in constant danger down here... either."

"Sorry." Lavendar slips into the room and shuts the door behind her. She doesn't really mean to go barging in on others, she just doesn't think about it, most of the time.

Taking a few steps in (not too far-- she doesn't want to step on any of his things), she nods, wings fluttering softly.

"Oh, I know. Things aren't good 'n' safe here anymore." It makes her sad that this wasn't the happy place Brando made. It wasn't the same place she knew and she misses it.

"D'you know where you're goin'?" She asks, "Somewhere safe, right?"

She hopes, anyway. She's not too close to JD, but she still considers him a friend.

"No, they're not. Not at all. Like the complete opposite of good and safe. It's- Uhm, yeah."

JD shakes his head, after a moment, running his hand through his hair (messing it up something fierce, but he's a little too frazzled to notice)..

"Yeah. Hopefully. We're still sort of working on that, but right now we're just getting out of the basement. I mean, it doesn't mean we can't still hang out sometime though, right? I mean you can leave the basement and we can do some coloring or something. I have crayons and I still use 'em!"

Nate's not packing. He should get around to it sooner or later, but he figures he won't be in the first group to go anyway. He'll have time. Right now, he's just trying not to think about Mat and what the hell he's doing, because it really doesn't matter. Mat doesn't want anything to do with him anyway.

He knocks on JD's door after standing in front of it for a moment or two. "JD? It's Nate."

JD jumps at the knock, but he's really thankful that the door was closed so Nate couldn't see. He throws the clothes into a quick, awkward pile and heads to the door, opening it after a moment of fumbling with the handle.

Oh, calm and collected is exactly how to describe JD right now (if it were opposite day).

"Hey. Uhm, c'mon in." He moves out of the doorway, with a nervous smile. "I'm sort of just... going through... stuff right now. Sort of. Mostly making a mess."

Nate smiles faintly, though it doesn't look at all sincere, and steps into the room with a shrug. "I think making a mess is kinda necessary for packing. Can't promise I'll make it any better..." He's trying for lighthearted, and mostly falling flat. It actually has little to do with the mass exodus, but he's not admitting that to himself.

"Yeah, I guess it is. The only other time I did the packing thing it was across country and I had a lot more stuff. Still I managed kind of a big mess without having much of... anything."

JD rocks forward on his shoes and shuts the door behind Nate, because a door will totally keep him safe. Of course. At least it will keep him from getting freaked out anytime someone walks by his doorway, thinking that it could be Romana or-

God, he really is ridiculous.

He glances at Nate at the expression on his face and frowns. Focusing on him right now is good. Better than the endless stream of panic.

"Uhm, are you okay? I mean you look... just- Obviously, you're not going to be okay. Though. I mean everything's kind of crazy right now what with the leaving and the crazy angel down here ruling over everything ever, but... I'm sorry. Rambling. Really just cut me off, tell me to shut up. It's the only way to stop the madness."
