Rose throws her arms around Mat and clings for all she's worth. She's scared, she'll be the first to admit, because they won't all be together. But she isn't going to leave him.
"I know," she whispers, "but I want to stay with you, Mat. And I'm pretty sure Romana will figure out before long that I'm certainly not on her side, and god only knows what she'll do to me then."
Yeah, Rose doesn't remember the last time she was this scared.

"You don't have to do this, you know," he murmurs into her hair. "You don't have to come."
Though, honestly, he'll feel safer if she's out of this place.
