Ciara is not in the habit of doing things spontaneously. Abducting victims, for instance. But she hasn't killed in a long time. And she needs to kill. So she's outside the Conrad now, stalking Penny.

She needs to kill today. It's been far too long.

Unlike a lot of people in the Conrad, Penny's just a woman. She doesn't have keen senses or an instinct for trouble, so it takes her a moment to actually register that there's something not right about things. It's like someone's... following her. She stops and shudders involuntarily even though it's a moderately warm day and the cold chill down her back is completely unprovoked.

"You're paranoid, Penny. No one's following you," she chides herself, before starting walking again.

Ciara grins as she hears that. She approaches Penny carefully, removing a cloth soaked in chloroform from her coat. She surges up behind Penny and clamps the cloth over her mouth.

Apparently, paranoia is justified. Penny gasps when the cloth comes over her mouth and struggles briefly, but it's hard to fight when your body is trying to stave off inevitable unconsciousness and after a second her eyes close and she falls limp, out like the proverbial light.

Her last thought before she slipped into unconsciouness was an oddly appropriate, Of course. The one day I leave the hotel.
