There's a howling in the factory yard, there's a pounding in my head.

It's an odd an uneasy gathering that makes its way into the Main Gauche. Malek is at the forefront, holding open doors and carrying bags - everything anyone would let him carry, really, which means it's mostly Elashte's briefcase. Neither of the women would let him touch their packs.

Elashte is following along, trying not to look like he's been ( Read more... )

"Am I allowed to kill things here?" Tay asks loudly as she trails reluctantly behind El. She's got a knife on her hip, as she promised to keep the guns in her pack. For now.

Tact has no place in her life. Apparently.

"No," Elashte says, just as loudly, and firmly. "And if you try, they'll be perfectly within their rights to kill you." He glances back at her. "I don't interfere with residents' lives or callings outside this complex. Inside this complex, I expect civil conduct and will enforce it if necessary." He turns back to the building he's strolling toward. "You don't bring your problems in."

Tay scowls and puffs her feathers up a bit. She's feeling seriously outnumbered, and rather like she might get jumped and murdered the moment El's out of sight.

Which, if it were anywhere else this densely populated with demons, would probably be true.

Don't worry, Tay. If anyone murders you, El will have their hide.

And he didn't say you couldn't sneak out at night to kill...

"You can choose any of the unoccupied rooms," he says, "in any of the three buildings. I prefer the view from the third floors." He exhales. "The facilities here aren't luxurious, be we do try to make them comfortable."

Now he's just being humble. The Main Gauche is a lovely building, Tay. You'll love it, in the moments when you're able to forget all its associations.

Buffy's been wandering the halls and grounds of the Main Gauche, for lack of anything better to do. Figuring out where everything is keeps her from freaking too much. And hey, if she doesn't think about the part where she can't get back, falling into other dimensions and finding herself surrounded by demons? Really all in a day's work for her. Granted, usually she's killing the demons, but...

Anyway, there's an eighteen-year-old blonde girl watching at Elashte & Co. with a rather dubious expression as they walk in. "Well, this is exciting. Or possibly ominous..."

Pretty much no one in the group looks particularly happy to be here, which is what's got Buffy interested in them. ...Well, that and she's bored out of her mind. She tried patrolling last night. Turns out vampires here? Not as common as they are back home. Then again, that's true of pretty much anywhere in the world that's not on a Hellmouth.

Elashte notices her, and a brief - very brief, and largely reflexive - mental brush confirms the fact that she's new. He excuses himself, drawing up.

"Hopefully not too ominous," he says, nodding civilly. "I'm Elashte. I take it that Commander Shepard brought you in?"

Tay hovers a few feet behind Elashte, trying to look threatening.

She doesn't know why she feels the need to do so, but she gets a weird feeling off this girl. She's a hunter. And that puts Tay on edge.

Don't mind the slight flaring of the wings, Buffy, or the hand on her knife hilt. She won't eat you.

"Uh-huh. So you're the boss guy around here, then?" The flaring of wings draws Buffy's attention to Tay momentarily. And the knife. And immediately looks suspicious. Hey, she's had issues with brunettes with knives lately.

After a moment, her attention swings back to Elashte. "Nice to meet you, I guess. I'm Buffy. I'd usually add 'the Slayer' on there, but you probably have no idea what that means."
