Parker really hasn't been in the best mindset these past few weeks. In fact, he's been wandering, lost once again in the big city. It really hasn't helped that he's been hearing voices, either, particularly one he recognizes all too well.
"I'm not crazy, I'm not crazy," he mutters to himself as he walks along the street.
Yes, Parker, you are. And you're lost.
He spots the girl, eating ice cream. She looks... sane. Which is a bit of a miracle, things being the way they are in the city.
Katie overreacts just a little, spinning around, her leg coming up just slightly... While still managing to hold onto her Ice Cream.
She likes Ice Cream, she's not going to let go of it even if it means running for her life.
Then she comes to her senses, realises that she standing in a populated area with several people staring at her and casts a reassuring smile around as she lowers her leg, she's fairly safe here... No need to bring out the knife in her boot and have people running and flailing.
She learns from her mistakes, heavens knows where she got it from.
So instead of bringing out a knife and fighting to the death she directs the almost smile at the man and takes a cautios step forward, all while holding onto the Ice Cream "Yes? Can I help you?"
Katie raises a eyebrow, several thoughts crossing her mind that maybe bringing out the knife would have been the best thing after all... Yes, more people are staring at her oddly now.
She really hopes there are no mind readers or anything, there probably are knowing her luck.
"A Hotel?" Katie looks at the man cautiously and then shrugs "sorry, if I knew where a hotel was I'd be there, I'm searching for one too."
Or what could be a hotel, a apartment building or a ostrich, Katie is really starting to curse her decision not to actually ask her aunt for proper directions.
Though on the other hand she's also rather glad, since her aunt was drunk at the time.
As such Katie is by this point a little used to random crazy people, she still frowns though "excuse me?"

"Excuse me!" he calls, approaching. "Excuse me!"
Pardon him, he means no harm.

Oh damn. Parker realizes he doesn't actually KNOW where he's headed.
"Hotel. Big. Lots of... rooms. And... people. And... it's big." He waves his hands around, trying to get his message across.
The narration suspects he's sort of failing.
'Am not.'
