The educationese for that is now "Executive Function" and it's one of the indicators that are measured when a student is evaluated for learning differences. Many of our students need serious help with it, especially in the Middle School (but those who don't get the help then, definitely still need it later). In fact, that's one of the things that gets taught daily, in each class, especially in Middle School (and probably Lower School, but I don't spend any time in those classrooms and don't see it). A few students do somehow seem "just to know" how to manage their time, but an increasing number just don't. And the current climate of you-must-take-every-course-you-can-shoehorn-into-your-schedule really doesn't help students understand the limits they need to set on themselves in order to succeed at what they do take on, which is a big part of time management in the first place

I love the idea of personal finance being mandatory, or even just offered. That's great! I wish I could send Tyro to your school to take it. I worry that he has no healthy models for good finance.
