Just out of curiosity, do you know where in the New Testament homosexuality is banned? I only ever see the Leviticus quote, and I'd like to know what I'm talking about if someone brings up other ones.
Not that it specifically concerns me whether or not it's okay in the Bible, but I've still managed to get into that argument before. In the end, though, I think it's a moot point because the laws, which DO concern me, ideally shouldn't be based off of any religion. Secular country and all that. If some people are against homosexuality through their church, I frankly don't care. I only care when that bleeds into the laws.

I agree about keeping the church separate from state. That's why I'm still undecided on gay marriage. There's no real reason for there to not be outside of my religious beliefs, but they're important to me so I don't want to completely disregard them.
Basically everyone does it at some point, it's just the people who always do it, and have no problem with it that really upset me. I also know that most Christians do shove it down others' throats. My denomination is the worst (or used to be? Apparently there's a New and Old Church of Christ... so sad, I'm confused over my own religion ^^;), because at least for awhile it was taught that you should go to sinners, tell them they're going to Hell, and then help them the best that you could. I decided later that even though the Bible says something to that effect, it also says don't condemn, so while I may mention my beliefs in passing, I'm not going to up and tell someone, "You're going to Hell unless you come to my church."

I know. It's crazy how people will insist upon hate just for different opinions. Thankfully, it will end someday, but it'll take Hell to do it.
Ugh. I have a very conservative church to a point that the surrounding Southern Baptists and Catholics are scared, but we don't teach that anyone is inferior to everyone. Everyone on Earth is equal. However, we don't have women in any church position. Women look after the potluchs, trade having youth devotionals every month with each other, and prepare the Lord's supper, but they aren't degraded or told that they are inferior. Generally our preachers and deacons are WHIPPED by their wives. ^_^
I don't believe that there are other paths to heaven, but you don't have to be a member of my church. Just a good person who attempts to only do what the Bible says, no more, no less.
