I think we had 6-8 inches here (most I can remember for a very VERY long time), more than enough to send the town into meltdown though! I think we had about half the staff we usually have in at work today (my department only 1/3 turned in - me!) between schools being closed and those who "couldn't get in". Of course the Pharmacist got in from Milton Keynes, but those coming from just the other side of town failed! Buses were a joke and there was a lorry snowed in out the back apparently! I hate the stuff with a passion, but it does amuse me greatly when life just stops!
Ha! I knew the woman at work who said she can't make a meeting in MK tomorrow lied. (I'd already spoken to dad who's more or less trapped in the village cos of hills and no grit but said the main roads are fine!)
The gritters hadn't been out this morning (they passed me coming home... useful!) so it was pretty insane in town, but still, if you can't drive it WALK! People who live closer than me were saying they weren't going to be in! Stoopids! My only issue was knowing where the path ended and the road began!

Oh, and I think it's an old people thing, the phrase "too cold for snow". *nods*
