I don't know how you can put up with that. Especially strangers touching you. Oh man. (I'm so afraid that one of these days, someone is going to think my fat is a baby and start rubbing my stomach. Gives me the creeps.) I love your comment that the baby can't talk yet!
I am fairly sure I never touched any of my pregnant friend's bellies. I don't quite understand the attraction. Is it because of the little life growing inside, or the person carrying it? I don't know much biology, but I'm pretty certain the growing entity won't feel any laying of hands.
People can be weird, but I guess that's why we keep having them... the next generation will fix everything!

I didn't get a lot of this with either pregnancy, actually. Maybe because I work with engineers, and they are primarily non-touchers from the start?
I never had strangers touch my belly, or ask to, so I was obviously lucky overall.
The biggest surprise was the several men who looked like biker-dudes (motorcycle, not bicycle) who gushed over how much I would love being a parent. Talk about a lesson in not judging a book by its cover!
