...What did I just write?

In my defence, this wasn't really my fault - not really. I read Nos' excellent babyfic, and this sort of grew in my head as a result. It's set in the same 'verse, in between The Fine Tradition of Fatherhood and On The Proper Education Of Time Lords.

Daaaaaaaaaarkfic ahead! )

doctor who: eleventh doctor, fannish stuff: fic, doctor who: amy pond, tv: doctor who

Have you read the fics that inspired it? If this is the sort of dark!Eleven you like, then those should be right up your alley.

(Also, thanks. :D)

I haven't but my tolerance for dark!Doctor is limited so this plus rereading Nothing at the End of the Lane (which you should TOTALLY READ if you haven't already; it's dark! One and mentally ill in a sympathetic light!Barbara) is about enough for right now. I'll pester you for links to those other fics later, though.

(VERY WELCOME)

They're not very long and they're both linked at the top of the post, if you do want to read them. They're...so, so, so twisted and dark, but just so brilliantly done that you'll love them anyway. They're basically like what I wrote only a zillion times better because unlike me, Nos can actually write dialogue. :P

(I haven't read that fic you mentioned, by the way. Link?)

Thank you! I was a bit nervous about playing in someone else's fic!verse, so I'm glad it worked out all right.

Thank you! I felt sad for her as well. The Doctor can be so cruel. :(

Should we feel bad for making him so mean?

I don't know. He's already a pretty mean character when he wants/has to be.

OUCH. This whole series is painful, but very good.

Glad you liked it. :) I think it's so scary because in some ways, it's very plausible. At least, that's what really gives it lasting impact for me - the idea that, were the show a little darker and a little more willing to explore themes like this (not that it ever would - I mean, it has to be kid-appropriate, of course), then maybe this could happen. I don't think it's much of a stretch to believe that the same man who destroyed Skaro, ended the Time War and mindwiped Donna could do something like this.

Tell me about it! I'm kind of freaked out by the whole thing myself.
